Weird lag that makes my keyboard input get a delay but my mouse input is fine

Hey guys, I've already submitted a ticked but they routed me to a hextechnichan and he kept saying the same thing basically I couldn't make him understand my problem. My issue is a weird kind of lag, it only happens ONCE in a game, but it happens every game. Between 5-10 minutes i suddenly notice that the sound is behind (Like when i die it takes a while to hear my champs death sound, or the announcer lags behind) and my abilities, my camera lock, (space bar) my settings, my chat starts to lag like crazy (unplayable levels of crazy) but anything i press meanwhile im in this state of lag (which only lasts about a minute or so) gets queued, so if i type anything it does indeed type it out but with a weird kind of FPS lag, meanwhile my FPS is stable 70-80 which it should be on my setup (I've always had around this fps) I don't notice any kind of ping or FPS spikes. But whats really makes this weird that anything i do on the keyboard lags meanwhile im in the lag mode (don't know how to call it at this point) but my mouse input is unaffected by my lag. Never had this kind of issue before and it began like 2-3 weeks ago. If any of you guys had a similar issue and know a fix please tell me about it so i can test it.

I've tried:

  • Closing the client while in game ( in the options, not manually)
  • Windowed mode ( It does help, however my potato PC can only run the game at the fps im confortalbe with on fullscreen)
  • Setting the video options to the lowest

And some additional info: Once the lag was intense, so i used alt tab to let my GPU catch its breath the game put itself in windowed mode for some reason when i got back. (only happened once) Also if i use alt tab while im in the lag mode it does the same and gets in a queue, but if i do it the problem gets less intense and goes away quicker.

Exactly same problem here. I reinstalled the game once and it fixed the issue for one game but after that the client updated itself and the problem came back. Now its been more than a month since this bug appeared and I just cannot find a fix for it but one thing is for sure its something with the code of the game since it only happens with League and no other game. Riot fix it already it been months since the first post was made about this issue.

Same here. I thought it's because of my hardware, so i wanted to check temperature of procesor, graphic card, etc. whilst this lag appears, but it also occurs on every other process that is running (HWMonitor, Spotify, even Task Menager) so I'm still not sure if it's because of high temperature. Everything just freezes til the lag's gone. Please riot answer or do something if this is not because of our PC's.

Just to make sure.

You are not using anything like a wireless keyboard are you?

I did use a wireless keyboard like 5 years ago and noticed that keys would be delayed regularly.

Same thing happens to me. It started last night and I can't figure a way to fix it. I've installed and uninstalled the game, did the full client reoair, reduced videos and audio quality, and still nothing.

I'm thinking if restoring my sistem as my next option.

Please Riot, help!

Exactly as described by OP. Good job. I don't have much to add except I have been dealing with this for months. I have posted in similar threads, of which there are many, but this is the most detailed and accurate description of the problem I am experiencing. One question if you're still around. Do you get what would best be described as machine hardware beeps coming from your motherboard "buzzer" or pc speaker while the input queue is catching up, ostensibly while you are alt+tabbed?

I see this as a problem in how the game handles keyboard inputs on certain hardware configurations, definitely a game bug that comes and goes with severity and character every patch since the beginning of the year. This issue has only ever occurred in League. Patch 9.8 seemed to have fixed it, apparently accidentally, but it returned with the next incremental patch. Unfortunately, things being what they are, I find it highly unlikely that Rito will fix this permanently as it probably only affects a few thousand users and there is no money in it, when you can put those resources towards a new skin. IOW they DGF. They are aware of this issue, but will probably not acknowledge it, even if it's hotfixed intentionally.

Those tech support people? They are paid to deflect, distract, delay and deny. They are the gatekeepers.

I agree that it’s very unfair that Riot doesn’t really care about this bug cause I’ve been having this for around 3 months now. This forced me to playing on the PBE servers most of the time. But now that TFT is out I can’t evevn log in to PBE anymore. Riot really doesn’t care about bugs that only affect a tiny portion of their servers, only if it profits them in some way. Hope Riot eventually realizes how they’re ruining players’ experiences by ignoring this problem.
