Just a Newbie trying to get better.

I am primarily a top-laner. Secondarily Mid-laner. My school has a team, and I am trying to level up to play with them. I practice with them quite a bit in my free time, whenever I'm not playing basketball. I have many questions: 1.) How can I reach a balance between all my champs? I started with Garen. He was pretty stupid in the meta I started in, so it was relatively easy. As I progressed, and began exposing myself to new champs, I discovered that I also thoroughly enjoyed mid-laning. I think it's just having a lane for myself. I don't like sharing experience, I guess. xD Anyways, my first real mid-laner was Kassadin. He's really hard. But, the way I figure it, if I master him early on, I'll be pretty badass when I reach ranked play. He's my only mid-laner right now. I've really been focusing on my top-laning champs. Now, to my problem. I find myself always playing the champion I purchase most recently. I bought Aatrox, And I played a TON with him until I bought Jax. And, I've recently been playing him. Is there a way I can effectively balance my champion usage? 2.) Is playing with my higher level friends useful? I practice with my buddies, Vir Cornelius, volatile artiste, and Fiveringsstudent quite a bit. (They are very adept players, if you wish to add them.) They are all in ranked play. I feel like playing with them makes me better, because of the exposure I get. But, getting one shotted by a skilled Nasus isn't fun, either. It's actually really damned humiliating. I just want to know if I should focus more on playing with my higher level pals, or solo queue. 3.) How can I get my two lanes more often? I absolutely despise playing anything but my two lanes mentioned earlier. I try to claim top first. And mid if that doesn't work out. But, I often find myself being forced to run one of the other shitty three spots. I contemplate suicide every time this happens. I guess what I want to know is this: Can I communicate with my team without being rude to get one of my lanes? Thanks. -Tidus Ripblade

  1. Just play until you find one you enjoy.

  2. Yes

  3. You can't really. All you can do is ask, and if you don't get it go for another lane.

  1. try calling fill or your preferred lanes in champion select, that way you're forced to switch up what you play. The best thing you can do is learn the other lanes as well.

  2. playing with your buddies should help you improve as long as you try to improve. But if you're not having too much fun playing with them do some solo que for a bit or take a break. It's first and foremost a game so treat it like one. Don't worry about losing to higher ranks.

  3. don't be rude about it. ask politely for your role and explain that you can't do the other ones. most likely it won't work too much of the time in normals but it sometimes works in ranked. But you're not going to get the role you want alot of the time so it'd be useful to figure out what kind of champions you like and get those kinds of champions for the undesirable lanes.
