Rework for Poacher's Knife
So, I think everyone would agree that the current version of
is pretty bad. The haste on enemy camp smite is fun and all, but not really worth it when compared to the other 3 available smite options.
What I propose for a fix, or at least a buff to make it worth picking up, is a smite damage boost. This would create a setting where smite wars have an effect. The jungler that takes white smite will have a leg up in baron, dragon, and buff contests, but will not have access to the farm power from
, the gank power from
, or the teamfight from
.
The damage boost I am imagining is, for example, a level 18 white smite dealing 1200 true damage when the other three deal only 1000. I don't think that the 200 damage is oppressive, and only really good junglers can take advantage of the small window of opportunity they have over the other jungler. At level 1 this damage would be somewhere around 475 true damage instead of 450.
