Let me get this straight

I am new to this game and I am a lvl 7. I called mid in normal blind and someone asked me in chat if they could have it. I said no I only play anivia currently and have no desire to go to another lane just yet. So he goes mid takes my farm and I get harassed by the whole team because I didn't give up and go support. Is this a normal thing in this game?

The new player experience is often seen as bad. It's unfortunate. A big part of it is that Riot can't identify players they previously banned (e.g. if a banned player plays from a library, are you going to can any account that plays at that library?) so when a player gets banned they create a new account. Which means the low levels are full of assholes who aren't really low levels.

Role stealing isn't always an issue, but in blind pick it will be an issue even at higher levels. The big problems with blind pick:

  • as you said, you only play Anivia mid. How is that possible? Do you mean to claim you've literally never been beaten to calling mid?
  • other players likewise go to blind pick because they explicitly want to play only 1 champion (and don't want it to get banned in draft). Doubly true when there's a new champion or rework out, or something is really overpowered. -believe it or not, due to ping you can see that you called a role first while an ally sees that they called it first. I've seen in chat my call first, and all 4 allies told me the other guy called it first in their chat. There's no way to fix this if both players are stubborn.
  • while "call order" is generally accepted, it's not an official rule. In old draft pick (before role assignment) "pick order" was an official rule. If you are assigned first pick, you got to take the role you wanted (even if someone else called it). The lack of an official rule makes some players believe they can just do what they want.

Issues aside, I hope this experience doesn't make you give up on the game. Low levels are meant for learning anyways.

  • I never played top Lane until after level 30, and learning how to play that role once I was fairly high MMR was insanely hard. My opponents were way better than me. I should have learned it much earlier.
  • in general, I would suggest playing a wide variety of champions and roles when you're new. Having a wide champion pool will be more beneficial to you in the long term than learning one champion well. What if Anivia gets nerfed? She actually is quite strong right now and could easily see a significant nerf resulting in her being really weak.
  • balance changes in general will make different champions strong and knowing how to play them already will help you climb ranks more easily
  • you'll probably eventually get bored of playing the same one or few champions. Having a large pool early May help keep you more engaged in the game.
  • the single best way of learning to play against a champion is playing AS that champion. You'll learn a lot about strengths and weaknesses if you play more champions.

My advice would be to go to ARAM early as it's better XP gains and will help you earn champions faster. Once you can play draft, do that, but I encourage you to purposely try new champions and roles often. Also don't disregard bots - they're a good tool at low levels. You've mentioned players running it down mid (presumably robots acting as players), so perhaps try intermediate bots or twisted treeline bots. I play bot games and I rarely get players like you describe and occasionally do get low level players. Also feel free to add players that try in bots so you can play some games with them (invite them to lobby). E.g. I don't normally play bots but if you wanted a game when I was planning to just get my first win in 15 min and not otherwise play, I'd see no reason not to queue with you (but of course on most days I'd be planning to stick around for at least an hour and would want to queue for ranked).

You WILL lose a lot of games. I understand losing isn't fun. It's an investment though, in learning to be a better player and winning games when they matter (in ranked).

And as for toxicity: it happens. Mute players when you have to. Once you've played for a while you'll gain rating and not get matched with them anymore.

No clue. If you're dissatisfied, simply leave.

Unfortunately a lot of the "new players" in this game are actually just people that got banned and refuse to change their attitude.

so what you are saying is...riot bans people. they make new accounts and harass very new people??? that doesn't even make sense on riot side

There's no way for them to prevent it apart from IP tracking, which is itself not good enough to guarantee people stay banned (or that nobody gets accidentally banned when they've done nothing wrong). I'm sure Riot doesn't mind the fact people will spend money on multiple accounts, but for the most part it's a tech issue and I'm pretty sure they would stop it if they could.

Because a good game is one of the most enthralling gaming experiences available. The biggest problem the game has, probably more so than all the others combined (posts whining about game balance be damned), is toxic players. You found some. It's unfortunate. If you find more, report them.

Something you should know, if you haven't been told: many low level summoners are experienced players leveling new accounts. Sometimes they just want to, sometimes they have to because their previous accounts were banned. If you've only ever played enough LoL to hit level 7 on one account, playing against other players is often going to leave you at a disadvantage because that level 8 facing you in mid lane has actually played 1,500 games. If they were banned for toxic behavior, they're not likely to change on the new account, so... yeah. For that reason, you might consider more co-op vs. AI games for now. There's far less reason for people to be toxic, and since it's mainly just mechanics practice, if someone plays like a butthole, it won't affect you (losing a bot game is nearly impossible unless the whole team is in on the feeding).

Play bot games with different champions so you can be more flexible and, more importantly, get a feel for how different champs work so you can do a better job playing against them. If you want to play against other people now, I recommend switching to draft pick when you're level 10 so you can choose mid specifically. However, if you're a mid main, you're going to need to be competent in a second position and learn something about playing support for when you get autofilled, because you're not going to get mid every game. Take the time to become more well-rounded while you're still low level and earning more experience for playing against bots. As much as toxic players need to be held responsible for their behavior, if your main concern is avoiding it in the moment, playing well is the best way to keep the stupidity at bay.

Interesting. When I've played bot games as level 30+ to practice new champs, people generally take lanes, even if they're playing goofy.

Still, like I said, bot games are really just good for mechanical practice. Work on CSing better. If you're stuck alone in a side lane with two bots, learn what you can get away with and what will send them after you (they're quite aggressive, you've probably noticed). If playing jungle as a backup position sounds interesting, you can work on jungle routes.

People are gonna be people. Practice what you can. Becoming competent at this game is a relatively long-term goal, as games go. If that interests you, just remember there are usually opportunities to make yourself better, even in the middle of the most absurd idiocy.

If you are playing blind pick that is a normal thing.

Honestly blind pick sucks, and is the worst queue this game has to offer. The moment you get access to ARAM play that. Even though you won't always get Anivia it's far better than playing blind pick, and will level you up to where you can play Draft while maintaining a bit of your sanity.

Like people have said there is a portion of fake "new" players who are just toxic assholes that simply spew shit everywhere. Try sticking to Vs AI or ARAM until you hit 30 if possible. Not to say that there wont be jerks in those modes.
