The New Rune System is Terrible

First of all, WTF? Secondly, WTF?

Where is the "customization" we were promised? After selecting your main keystone, you are limited to the most restrictive set of options I've ever seen in league.

What happened to the tier-system? Gaining levels used to mean something. Higher level=better runes. You also had to put in a lot of time to purchase the runes you needed after unlocking the rune slots. Now new players simply "GET" everything that veteran players spent time unlocking? That's complete bullshit.

The new rune system has simultaneously made several champs ridiculously overpowered while making many other previously viable champions completely unplayable.

How many years were spent by the design team releasing and refining and fixing and tweaking the previous rune system? Spend all that time and energy making a balanced game that is VERY customize-able and user-friendly, then break it for no apparent reason. WTF was wrong with the old rune/mastery system?

The old system took time to learn, and you had to EARN it. The new one feels like a slap in the face to all who spent time perfecting a build further enhanced by the very specific rune and mastery pages that it was specifically built for. Some of us spent many, many hours of trial and error on the old rune system. I'm not talking about a generic "ADC" rune/mastery combo either. I'm referring to people like me who bought and tweaked individual rune pages which were specific to 1 champion using a specific item set. Doing this took skill. There used to be a lot of options. Used to....

Now we have "keystones". Keystones which are at best just dumbed-down amalgamations of runes and masteries which pale in comparison to their former glory.

League should be a game for everyone, but dumbing it down to make it attractive to new players has served only to alienate each and every player who has put time into League prior to this revision. Veteran players don't want simple.

I didn't start playing this game 6 years ago because it was simple. I started playing because it was challenging. To me, this new update makes the game feel very vanilla and boring.

And don't even get me started on the fact that you can now set up a build that allows you to change your 2 skills in game to whatever you want. That just aint right.

Hmm.. well, yeah, Riot is trying to appeal to casual players. So why not make the system easy to use, easily obtainable and... dumb as fuck?

New runes favor the same champions that were already strong (wowzers), and they dumbed down any type of variation in this new system.

W/E dude, they added the plants, which were shit in PBE and STILL ARE one of the shittiest additions to the game, yet they still keep it.

So... no amount of complaining can get this issue resolved lol. Because once again, casual players LOVE IT! :D
