Help on runes!

As I find myself playing more ranked games, I find that it would be in my best interest to create and optimize rune pages. However, I ran into some problems while trying to decide which runes to buy, and I'm sure they're problems many players tried to figure out. First of all, when do you use flat or scaling CDR glyphs? And second of all, when do you use flat or scaling health seals? Finally, should you run armor or health quints on tanks? (Also, I don't see many people running scaling armor seals, but it may just be me). If it helps to answer these questions, I play jungle, mid, and support. Thanks for helping out! :)

it really depends on how you wanna play cause I play kassadin jungle and I need regen runes on him it's automatic or ill die in jg clear now going health or armor depends on skills and build

cause if your building ravenous hydra just go armor but if you go titanic hydra go health

it's all based around your items read the effects and play around with them in custom games

like I have an irelia proc build is it op no!! isn't funny yes lol

but are you looking too rank up or have fun which one

I can answer for tanks. Support tanks usually run Flat HP Quints. Armor red and yellows and scaling MR blues. The MR is not needed that much early game since who is going to be doing the damage is the enemy adc which primary is ad damage.

Scaling HP Seals can be used on tanks support but.... Usually flat Armor works better. So in reality spending on HP seals (flat or scaling) is not recommended. If you really need the extra HP I woudl go for the flat HP quint and Armor seals, if you already bought them thou you can interchange the, using Armor quint and flat HP seals. Ideally you want out of the 4 types of runes, 2 to be armor, 1 to be flat HP and 1 to be MR. Scaling HP seals are severely underpowered at the moment and I wouldn't recommend it.

Scaling armor seals are mostly used on mid laners which are against another mage (or ap champion) which would do magic damage. Again early game you don't need that much armor unless you are melee and will be forced to take a lot of minion aggro.

Tanks in the jungle do better running a standard mage or ad bruiser runes or even standard adc runes with a tank mastery set. They need some form of damage to speed up the clear times. I believe currently even Rammus prefers Attack Speed Runes over the full armor ones.

As for the scaling or flat CDR, I have never used anything other than flat CDR to achieve 5% CDR (the rest are either MR or mana regen) and then you woudl get Ionian boots (15%) so you only woudl need one item to get the cap. But since the nerf to ionian boots I have seen players take a mix of scaling and flat CDR to make up the 5% missing from the ionian. Personally I don't mind sitting on 35% so I still take my MR runes mix but is a mtter of preference.

If your champion is focused on bullying and trades pre-6 then you generally want flat stats If your champion just sits back and leisurely farms, then you generally want scaling stats (unless you're worried about even surviving for that long). You can kinda get an idea of which you want by looking at the break-even point on scaling vs. flat and think to yourself "On this champion am I planning to be the most influential before or after this point?" and double down on your strong phase.

Quints are all over the place depending on the champion. Maokai would take AP to help out his damage, Shen seems to like armor, Malphite likes AP or health apparently, most juggernauts would want AP or armor pen, Volibear and many junglers prefer attack speed, I would say the most catch-all quints tend to be movement speed. 1.5% per quint is not bad and there's really no champion in the game that will complain about going faster.

Hmm.., I see. I've never really thought about that way. Thanks for that tip!
