Which top/mid to play

Hi and thanks for any answers!

I used to play support a lot (morgana/ soraka/ kayle ) then turned to top. I then played vlad and pantheon, which i liked, but im still not 100% liking it. Im looking for a top or mid with high kill potential, love the burst damage, some survivability, and i would really like to have a stun/pounce.

Im not a super experienced player and know next to nothing about most champions. Any help is appreciated ! :)

Edit: a friend of mine recommended lux or annie any thoughts ?

Have you considered Maokai?

I get the feeling maokai isnt damaged oriented am i mistaken ?

He can do some major DMG tbh... If you build him like an AP tank (so primarily AP/HP items like ROA, Rylia's, and Liandry's) you will have the DMG, plus sustain from passive, and he can take a beating.

Based on your criteria, I would recommend Irelia, Kennen or Kled for top lane.

Does kled have a some sort of burst? Or does he need to weaken to secure a kill?

Kled's W provides a significant amount of damage through your autoattacks due to W's passive. Combined with his Q and E (to stick to the target), you can burst people down surprisingly quickly.

You actually can play Kayle top lane if you want to. But as for new champions to learn:

Kennen Kennen has some good CC as well. Kennen seem like he would fit your playstyle the best based on the champions you said you liked at support. Kennen can go Top, Mid, and in some strange cases support. His stun is pretty much psedo-tankiness that can help you survive longer in fights. Plus he's a ranged top laner. TahmKench is an alright top laner too, and he stomps some matchups hard. Maokai isnt an awful pick either but i cant really help you with Maokai top, i hate him up there and only like to play him support XD
