Do people just get carried in rank or what?

they say they gold and silver and i just got bronze 2 and i did it solo the whole 10 games. 8 losses and 2 wins... to bad the ranking system wasn't bases off stats instead of w/l

right now it's a lot easier to progress if you play with your friends.

Mmm no not really, i solo queue all the time as poppy. i usually end up carrying the first few teamfights. then the adc takes over :3

If it was based off stats you'd probably be lower than bronze 2. There's a reason why no one at high elo plays full AD Vi. Not only is your kill participation and KDA very poor but you also frequently deal less damage to champions than the support (even though you are going full AD.) Hell in one of your ranked games you did less damage to champions than a Soraka.

Please watch how high elo players play before making absurd comments that you deserve to be higher than you are. You are right where you belong.

He/she/it is not right where they belongs. In silver 2 you should know better than doing what you mentioned. Thats low bronze play.

Silver 2 is WAY higher than someone doing what you mentioned should be in.

He's bronze 2, not silver 2. And like I said in the first sentence he's lucky to even be in bronze 2 based off his stats.

I placed Silver 2 (first season that I'm ranked as well). Realistically, it depends on how well you did vs the other team and their mmr. If your wins were all against bronze 5s, then you lost against every silver+ game. That matters too.

I was placed silver 2 my first season as well. I was not silver 2, 100%. I was bronze 3 at best, if even that.

Unfortunately the way the system is now, new players get placed into elo they are not prepared for and then slowly, ever so slowly, will fall to where they actually belong. Creating a very frustrating experience for them, and for their teammates.

It could be that you actually are silver 2 as well, however very unlikely.

I immediately went into Silver 1. Got into gold promos, then primarily was put against G2-Plat5 teams where my teams were all Gold 4 and Silver 1 (me), so I lost a bunch and went down to Silver 2. Almost in my S1 promos again. The match making seems wonky. I mean my first season is this whole thing so I have no real reference, but I don't know if pitting a Silver 1 trying to get into Gold against a bunch of Platinum players is particularly helpful.

Well, yes. It's based on wins and losses, not personal score. You can be a killing machine, but the game isn't about killing, it's about objectives. Next game you go on a murderous rampage, being the terror of your enemies, try pinging your team to go get objectives and stay with them to protect them.

Remember, it's a team game about taking objectives, not team death match.
