Ionian boots of lucidity vs Sorcerer's shoes on Kat

I was playing a match the other day as Katarina and an Akali on our team said to report me for building the wrong item and that item being Ionian boots of lucidity. I told her it's a good buy when the enemy team hasn't built any magic resist but she refused to listen and kept telling me sorcerer's shoes are better cause she main's Kat. I'm pretty sure that the Ezreal on our team reported me since he was pretty new to the game but anyway i'd like your opinion on which boots you'd build on Kat. And yes i'm aware of her passive. Btw they only played 2 ranked matches as katarina our of the 10 prerequisites.

Actually, flat penetration is stronger against enemies with low Magic Resist.

Sorcs ARE still better, but that's a pretty silly reason for a report. Since Kat isn't about dealing sustained damage by spamming spells it's best to get more date out of the ones you are casting. Also, sorcs are still good if they aren't building MR. They are actually fantastic against low MR. You can put them into the negative with sorcs, aby scepter and void staff.

Most items should be considered situational. The majority of the time Sorcerers shoes will be the superior item. But you should never be so locked into a build that you refuse to adapt to the enemy team. If you believed that lower CD would help more than MR, than by all means build Boots of Lucidity.

"they arent building mr" thats what i thought too till i looked out how much fking mr my champs have without me ever building any watever they got through lvling or watever, hinders me so i would buy sorc

I feel it is a good second choice of an item, which of course depends on the situation. Kat can benefit greatly with both boots, either the extra magic pen. and the extra low cooldowns. But i would prefer getting sorcerers over lucidity as her cooldowns are already very low. Although i would rather take mercury treads over boots of lucidity just for the extra tenacity.

IMO, item 3020 is a more preferable item than item 3158 , since being an ass-assin (teehee :3), kills are pretty common for you, and all your moves will always resets on kills & assists, meaning that 15% cdr isn't so necessary.

Magic pen is to good to pass up and why the fuck would you get cdr boots on a champ who gets full resets on 3 abilities when she gets a kill or assist. Her rank 3 ult is 45 seconds which is really low enough that it would be up for every engagement.
