The Current State of League, ADC's, and the Future Bot Lane Mage Meta

Is anyone else out there a bit upset with the current ADC changes and the overall state of the game? WHY are they trying to push mages into bot lane and shafting ADC's in the process? Maybe i'm a bit biased but i'm not a huge fan of whats been going on in League currently. My favorite play-style in League of Legends over multiple years has been to play Crit carries, and now they feel worthless. ADC has always been about ramping up slowly and then doing a ton of damage. It's what I've always loved about the role. However, with the current state of damage and the pace of the game, how do you expect them to get to the point where they can even utilize their expensive garbage builds? Also why bother with hyper-carries if top lane tanks can do just as much damage? And can someone please explain to me what the point is of trying to force mages bot? Being one shot by support Brand, Zyra, and Vel'koz was bad enough. If I wanted to play as a mage or against one i'd intentionally go mid. I don't want to be forced into playing a mage when playing as an ADC is what I love. Some MAJOR changes need to be made to the current state of the game. This is a game I've been playing since I was a kid, as i'm sure many of you have been too. It's a game i'd love to see make a comeback, I just don't see that happening in its current sorry state. However, I don't feel that destroying what players loved about the game is the way to go about it. As a player that's been an ADC main for years, Riot, i'd kindly ask you to allow my favorite role to still remain viable somewhere. I DESPISE top lane. Whats even worse is that all the cheesy ADC top picks just don't contest very well with actual top laners. So please riot, I beg you! If we want to play mages we can go mid. Their kits are based around being able to stand alone. Stop trying to force them bot. Revert IE, or at least make its build path viable. Maybe consider increasing the average game time again? The game felt more fun back then but maybe that's just me. Then finally, take the Nerf bat out, and get swinging (on about half the things in the entire game), and have a fantastic day :)

They probably should remove one type of changes at a time. Tbh, the whole idea of mages being able to bot lane is a bit flawed when ADCs scale well with items but poorly with levels, and mages scales well with levels and decently with items. ADCs on average scale better but a role that is made to scale with levels should probably not be on par with a role that scales with items, at least not if they have insane burst. This will just make tactics that used to be commonly known like brannie and make it stronger. However, the change to base stats themselves could be good if that was all there was. There was just way too many changes and nerfs to adcs in one patch. Base stats got overall nerfed, cost got increased by about 900 for first 3 items, and the power spike once you get it is overall weaker. All those nerfs together made crit adcs feel worthless (seriously, the only way to make adcs like tristana work right now is to cheese them with press the attack from my experience). I feel like supports should of gotten balanced and nerfed (at least on their damage) before the adc changes went in. Poke supports were already too strong before the patch and with the base stats and other nerfs, it just made half the adc pool feel weak. At least most adcs are able to build another item like blade or essence reaver so they won't feel the crit nerfs as badly.

As a mages main , I like the changes , mid lane is already unplayable for mages when you only get to lane against Yasuo Fizz Zed Talon Irelia , I feel bot lane is safer for me

Mid lane was far from unplayable for mages bc of the champions you listed. They are hard lanes without a question in your case the problem may have just been that you did not the the champions that do well against assassins

As a mage main, I want to play mid! I don't want to be thrown botlane and I don't want to see the ADC bot outscaling me at 3 items either, the point where I 'm supposed to be at my strongest on most of the class. The issue is simple: The game pacing was designed on longer games. With shorter games you either scale earlier than you are supposed to (this season) so you annihilate the importance of other roles which fall off, or you don't, in which case you are useless since the game is decided before you can have anything to say about it. We need longer games!

I personally dont like the changes. Ive played all of the roles and in my opinion this cpould end up being what finally ends LOL. Crit champs besides yasuo are now useless Ashe Sivir Twitch Jinx and so on. I cant even play mid bc all the mid laners are getting banned out bc no one needs to ban an actual adc they are banning more mages and assassins then ever before i just got out of a game where the other team only banned "mid laners" and then the person who was supposed to be our adc picked the mage that i wanted which left me playing some random champ and feeding. The changes need to change back this is seriously making me start to hate the game. Riot continues to change LOL and it seems they are only making it worse

The reason for all of this is to help mid and bot laners feel like they can carry again, because they haven't been a huge fan of what's been happening in the League for the last three years, the last year in particular. After the Ardent Censer meta, where assassins were absolutely useless and divers were so bad at killing carries that Riot had to give reworked Irelia 300% bonus damage with her passive against shielded targets (under the assumption that she's already burned all four abilities on the shielded target to stack her passive up) it makes sense that supports and ADCs need a nerf.

This is the point of metas. Some years some strats are good. Other years other strats are good. It's the solo laners' turn to shine.

Came just to downvote....

So tired of seeing so many "state of the game" type threads, many that contradict each other. So much complaining.

I mean the mere fact that there are so many threads should say something. If the majority of the people felt that way it would be one consistent thread that would constantly be at the top due to getting activity.

Stop flooding the boards with the same damn complaints PLEASE :)

The more threads the better ^^ As an adc main since season 2 (and there are lots like me btw) i feel i can't play or enjoy the game anymore since there is no point in playing adc... considering quitting the game, worst scenario. Why would u care there are so many threads? is it bothering you? just curious ^^ this only shows how fcked up the meta is. Every time i queue, there are 2-3 people complaining about the game.. is that ok? Have a nice day, gg wp. Something has to be changed soon

Like I said....if that was the way the majority of people felt...then there would be ONE CONSISTANT thread. The fact that the threads die and people have to keep making new ones about the same thing shows that not even enough people feel that way to keep a thread relevant.. (this one is only getting new attention right now because im responding to this 2 days after you so it will go in view again for others)

And that leads me to my point, you ask "why would you care there are so many threads?" Its simple....... put yourself in the devs shoes or whoevers job it is to go over board posts for feedback. Which board complaint will you pay more attention to? A thread that is getting high highly upvoted with thousands of comments and views and is staying on the top of the boards because its getting a lot of activity or a thread that after over a week is sitting on 4 and only getting activity when people respond to the same other people 3 days later.

So do you understand now? If people really seen something as a problem and wanted it changed they wouldnt flood the threads with so many posts about the same thing that is already said and posted by others. If 1 post got like 1000 upvotes or more and stayed at the top because of getting activity there is no way they can justify ignoring it.

@Riot. Please repeal that patch that just broke the game. This has turned into a mix of mortal combat and ARAM on 5's. This is the dumbest thing they have done yet. Riot go back to worrying about how to balance the game rather than what meta is what. (Cough like you use to cough) You just eliminated 20% of your community if not more.

Honestly, I've tried ap mages bot. It doesn't work that well. If it does work, you may dominate the lane but in team fight, you seriously lack damage compared to what an adc would do. Can't kill tanks for example.
