effective armor and magic resist calculations

The Real A Twice··1 votes·840 views

I am curious as to how the game calculates effective resistance stats when a champion has multiple penetrations sources with flat and percent penetration, as well as armor/MR reduction, such as BC, Garen E, Kayle passive. what is the order(armor/MR reduction, % pen, flat pen)? Are percent reductions additive or multiplicative? Can anyone provide any insight?

You do calculations in this order

  1. Flat reduction (Rengar Ult, Wits End)
  2. Percentage reduction (Black cleaver, Kayle Passive)
  3. Percentage penetration (last whisper, Yasuo ult)
  4. Flat penetration (lethality, sorcerer's shoes)

Other notes:

Resistance can only be reduced below 0 by flat reduction from things like Wits end. Once at or below 0, all other sources are disregarded.

All flat is additive and percentage is multiplicative.
