Pyke is now dead

I main pyke jungle and this new rework absolutely killed him. His minion clear was horrendous before but i was still able to manage. Now he does less damage to creeps so now the minion clear takes even longer. Another thing is pyke is pretty garbage with 1v1 fights considering is Q and E do basically no damage and the W only works if you flash out of a fight. And with the ult doing less damage now he is basically worthless. Its pretty hard now to ult someone because they need to be at pretty much 10 - 15% health, usually their health regen or heals brings their health back above the threshold. I even had an Allistar kill me. Whats the point of a pyke ult when any other champion in this game can just auto the last kill, at this point the ult is only good for sharing gold and nothing else. Anyone else frustrated with this nerf? i feel like pyke is completely useless now. I'm honestly a little booty tickled at this nerf it hit me pretty hard.

Pyke support isn't all that great anymore either. its nearly impossible to land the ult considering everyone heals by the time you can use it. He just doesnt have the damage output for someone so squishy as he is. anyone that builds tank can counter him now

Lethality ignores base armors not bonus armor. So no assassins aren’t supposed to shred through tanks. That’s why a lot of assassins get black clever so they can take off the bonus armor.

ok and? yeah black cleaver and lethality, its all supposed to aid you enough so that you can do enough damage to bring them low enough so you can ult them and even then before the nerf he hardly did damage to tanks. now you cant 1v1 anyone because your q, e combo doesnt bring their health down enough to ult them. now you have to Q, E, W, flash out of the fight(if they are slower than you or you wasted a flash because you cant get out of range to get your health regen), wait 9 - 12 more seconds to Q, E again and maybe get your ult in if they dont dodge or heal.

I get what you’re saying. It stinks he got redirected to be only support especially if you were able to take him to other lanes prior to that. Seems like he matches the champ spotlight video now where they said he is going to need back up. Probably feels kinda like thresh now but squishier like you said.

You weren't supposed to ever 1v1 a tank as Pyke. Lethality works on squishy targets, not targets that build armour.

That's... not true. Pyke support is doing just fine. His winrates in the botlane were quite high before this patch, and the nerfs to waveclear and MR don't really affect his power as a support at all. I think you're just bad at supporting.

well i dont play supp as i cant carry as a supp player. i refuse to play supp. pyke is my favorite champion but now he has been deleted from meta. i cant do anything with him anymore as i am a jungler and i currently cannot find a jungler i like other than pyke. all they had to do was nerf his ult but they just had to nerf his minion damage. everyone wants akali's shroud ability to not be completely invisible but they decide to throw a middle finger to pyke players? not cool.

He hasn't been deleted from the meta. The way you play him is the wrong way to play him and they only nerfed the things that he wasn't supposed to be good at in the first place.

Pyke can absolutely carry as a support, you just don't do it in the laning phase. You feed your marksman early game then clean up skirmishes and teamfights later on. If he's really your favorite then you'll figure out how to play him in the role he was intended for, because he was never intended to be a jungler.

Also, they nerfed Akali's shroud by a huge margin, letting people see her for an extended period of time while she's running around hitting them inside it.

sorry but pyke is 100% a jungle/supp character. i was going games 20/0. but since riot doesnt like people going mid pyke with jungle items they decided to make it harder. its bull

pyke doesn't have to play only support, i never played him mid or top but pyke should at least be able to jungle. he has a pull and a stun which is great for ganks. honestly i think you people are just haters because you dont like seeing someone kill shot you. most games i play with pyke before he got nerfed i had to wait 5 - 10 seconds in team fights to clean up.

that not anyone issue except yours. He is made for support you play him as support. play him anything else you accept the consequences of your failure. You did not design the champ.

lol he is perfectly built for jungle idk what you are talking about. yes he is meant for supp, but tbh he is a supp/jungle champion. the only reason why they nerfed his minion damage is because people were going mid with jungle items just like aatrox was.

Dude, I don't even want to see Pyke in the support role. I hate him because he was purposely made as a "support" designed to essentially one-shot people because of people who were auto-filled support would troll because they didn't get a damage role. He makes my life as a support main hell when I'm trying to save my adc but can't because oh look, they were in range for Pyke's ult and it goes through shields.

are you kidding me, pyke has everything perfect for a jungler. he can go invisible to engage, can pull and stun and finish off kills. he is PERFECT for jungle. but no, since everyone wants to complain he gets nerfed and players like me have to find another champion that i dont like just because you guys whine about a champ that relies on team fights

just because a champ has some cc and damage doesn't mean they can jg. please tell me what he has to offer that others don't have plus more to make him even the slight bit viable. he is so predictable and easy to dodge with what he wants to do that anyone with a brain shouldn't die to a gank from him

pyke has the best ganking capabilities. he can run in, pull an enemy back to your adcsupp/mid/top, stun them, and then ult and share the gold among whoever got the assist. he is ultimately the best jungler in the game but now with the 20% damage reduction on minions he can no longer clear camps fast enough to be able to stay relevant.

he was never best jungler in the game, not even close. the gold sharing is nice but he is still super predictable and doesn't provide enough that others have (plus more). his only cc is slow and easy to avoid unless you hit q which is also hella telegraphed and can be dodged/minion blocked easily. the only way to guarantee a q is to sit in a bush on bot and get them that way but even then if the laner has a brain they should have that warded(I make sure to always ward the bush and have my sup ward river). he was bottom 10 at best for junglers. I have not seen one successful pyke jg unless the enemy team literally didn't ward or pay attention to the map ever in the game.

I play mainly jungle, I took M5 to Pyke when it came out, but the truth is I'm glad they nerf Pyke, because it's annoying to have him against, mainly because the W and E give him too much escape.
