Blue Essence Purpose

I've been playing for a really long time, might not be the best, but I have acquired all the champions over the course of 8 years. I now have the benefits of having excessive amounts of blue essence, and nothing to use it on. I've got over 20 champion capsules (after I realized I didn't get anything useful I started stockpiling them) that are only going to yield MORE BE, so I have yet to open them. Is there a plan in place to make Blue Essence useful for anything besides acquiring new champions? I bought some of the BE celebratory stuff when it released, but now I have nearly 60k BE and nothing to use it on, in addition to all the champion capsules. I don't really care what I get to use it for, I just want to have a use for it.

@RiotGames, Is there a plan for it, or do I just amass it to be like the Elder Dragon... And is there any easy way to scrap large groups of capsules for something?

TL;DR Have all champs, don't have a use for BE anymore. What's the plan?
