Hello

I'm looking to start playing ranked this season. I started playing this game back in season 3 and never stuck with ranked(played 3 games in ranked a long time ago but wasn't interested)

Anyways, before starting ranked how many champs is ideal to learn?

Right now I play Nasus(top), Shen(top and mid), Vladimir( top and mid )consistently. I've also played Xin, Renekton, Skarner(go to jungler) and Swain. But the first 3 are the champs I'm most comfortable playing.

Thanks

I think it all depends on how long you want to wait in queue. Based on the new system, you choose two spots to play. I suspect top/mid will have the longest queue times followed by jungle, ADC and support.

As such, if you're willing to wait for days, learning just a few champs will be okay, especially if they aren't perma banned champs (at the moment Mundo, Kench, ...)

How I remember it you should have 2-3 champions in every role you intend to play, so at least 4 champs, but the more champs you know how to play the better you can do as your more flexible and can even learn to counter pick with your champion pool

I did most of my climbing with one, but I'd say no more than 3 champions. Idk what ur rank is and I'm too lazy to check atm :)

Feel comfortable with 2 per role. Your main role you should probably have 3 or more tho

Have 2 per role or more of some are banned often. I would suggest that you also only pick champs that you can achieve greatness with i.e. a high win rate (a champ that you can carry with).

Alright, thanks guys! I'll try out a few other champs that fit my playstyle(I'm thinking about trying velcoz out, he seems fun and a strong midlaner if played well).
