The limit of Potions SEVERELY NERFS all Melee champions hard. (Top lane perspective).

I'll start with an example. Let's say I play Jarvan IV top against a Gnar. No retarded Gnar would walk up to J4 and start taking hits. No, Gnar would zone out J4 and CS using his range advantage. How does J4 win this lane?

Well aside from the obvious counter poke with his Q, he needs to be able to trade damage equal to that of Gnar to have a chance. But with the recent potion change limiting them, you can't trade as a melee mana using champtions because your sustain has been drastically reduced. You are limited to 1 type of pot. Either you give up harass potential or you give up hp sustain. (You can no longer buy HP pots and another pot that heals MP). As a Jarvan, pokers are now able to stand back hit you from far away and win because they will always have the sustain advantage. You are forced to tower CS.

Top lane may be seeing some way more passive play with just two ranged pokers csing under turret because your typical melees become much less capable of farming and therefore less useful.

Ezreal Karma Orianna Vayne Rumble Swain Quinn Lux Lissandra Ahri Azir Diana Lulu Kennen <-------- I imagine seeing some of these a lot more often top lane. As opposed to Irelia, Darius, Fiora, Wukong, Hecarim, Jarvan, Jax, etc.

BRING BACK POTION BUYING!

When sustain resources become scarce, there's less action, more CS, and a slowing of the pace of the game. I for one absolutely HATE this change.

JarvanIV Swain Pre Patch J4 trades go all in do damage. Even trade. Go back tower heals with pots. Return to lane. MORE ACTION Post Patch J4 trades go all in do damage. Shit no more sustain and I'm getting poked the fuck out. Go back to base. Refill pots. Repeat.

This maybe a simplistic way of looking at it. But nevertheless it holds truths. Though yes this nerfs bruisers in general, but it hurts perfectly balanced champions that use mana like Wukong, J4, Hecarim etc. (Nerf champs like Darius not all melee, mana using champs....)

Ranged champions have less room for error now tipping the balance in their favour. I am calling for a revert back to old pot system. (Note: Pots have already been nerfed, they cost more. That alone should be enough)

Please share. I enjoy playing this game but this change has severely hindered my experience and with I'm sure many other players.

The removal of mana pots is one of the most retarded things I've seen Riot do in a while, and that's saying something. Making health pots 60% more expensive was pretty freaking retarded too. Fuck Riot...

I Agree! Allowing players to buy pots have been a staple to almost every MOBA out there! Now champions without sustain are severely constricted. :( Champions who don't use mana are even stronger now. This nerf to pots is a buff to non-pot users. Tipping the balance once again! :( Akali Zed Vladimir Tryndamere Riven Shen LeeSin These are some very strong champions who just got a lot stronger because of the Pot change!

Increasing the price of health potions was due to the removal of vision wards (not that many people bothered buying them) and increases to gold generations (shut-downs, assist sprees, passive gold generation, gold from CSing) increasing the gold available to players.

MonkeyKing rage is real.

I understand that all top laners and players who play mana-wasted champions are frustrated about the potion change but Rito believes that it's more efficient for players. They believe without multiple Mana potions, it'll be a fair game between players. However, I do like the new changes that they've made to Graves and the other ADCs, as well as the new items they've installed into the game.

I don't disagree or agree but I would prefer if they had a limit of how many you can buy (approx. 2 each 5 minutes or so), that way it will be cost-efficient and no more spam-buys for multiple potions per trip. For the players who play Mana champions, try to be more mana-efficient so you wouldn't have to consider going back to base to recover your Mana or just buy Mana-regen items and let's hope you won't start spamming your skills every 5 seconds (You'd be lucky if they brought back URF, then you could spam your skills 24/7).

Regardless of what changes Riot makes, some players will still dislike them because no one likes changes. If it doesn't work out for 99% of the community, they may change it back. So just be patient and we'll see what happens.

But best of luck to all the Top and AP Laners.
