Supporting Jinx

Fearius··2 votes·536 views

Hi, I'm a support currently in the silver-gold area, and I main support. I play with a friend who mains jinx adc. Early on we used to play really aggressive with braum passive and deal a ton of damage, but now it's simply not working anymore. We would like some help Our Summoner names are Fearius, and Amin3x. We would like any help possible to get better, including changing champions to play. IF you have any questions or tips please write them bellow thanks! We go a bit over 50/50 in games btw

What we need to focus on mainly is our earl game, we are very bad there we loose very often, but come back in the late game to win.

Hm, if you're looking for early game, are you talking about trying to survive early game, or trying to get an early lead?

If you're trying to survive early game, then dedicated peelers like Raka, Janna, or even Lulu would do. Soraka Raka, we all know, just as long you spam W, stay behind and/or don't get hit, and land your Q's, Jinx might as well become immortal in lane, no matter how aggressive she may be. After lane is still more "better not die" kind of playstyle, but is extremely stupid against the enemy team just as long you are alive and is mashing W on someone. Janna The ultimate tool of disengage. Tank supports? Fuck that shit, mash a button, cya. Really good against Thresh and Leona. Junglers can never gank you assuming you know how to land tornadoes, or ult if it's up. After lane... well you are still there to disengage. Lulu Even though outclassed, I always loved Lulu/Jinx lanes personally for the sake of lack of actual planning especially when they outplayed the enemy botlane and also because I also have a friend who mains Jinx, just look up Cancerous Jinx :P. Her peels are rather subpar unless you know how to ward deep and anticipate enemies coming to gank, but with the combination of Jinx's chompers, you can still get out alive. You love aggressive laning and grabbing instant jungler attention? Grab Lulu and poke all day. You see those boring tank supports pulling fancy combos, mash w on either of them and continue to annoy the fuck out of them. Her teamfights are so much more powerful after lane, and like Janna and Raka, you are STILL a backline support but with awesome peeling abilities. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS.

Otherwise if you're trying to spoonfeed your friend and snowball later on, then grab tanks like Leona, Thresh, or Alistar. Leona Leona in general has stronger setups. You can literally mash 3 buttons in a row and give your friend free kills. Since her lockdowns are fairly strong, she's actually not THAT prone to ganks, unlike me. After lane you're just a typical tank. Thresh Thresh does so much more than just engage, and is less binary so if you are smart enough, a single silence or two will not screw you up if you're trying to pull off a fancy engage. Disengage is just as strong, and you're actually there to punish people for mistakes. And that fucking "out-of-jail-free" card lantern, use that shit. It will make any of your teammates as flashy as an LeBlanc. This is a little more advanced than Leona in general, but at least... know how to land your hooks. Alistar Alistar has a fairly strong engage (the famous WQ combo), but a much stronger disengage in general. You seriously can't kill this guy, just mash R and never die again as you watch your team miserably die. His kit is a lot more simpler, but because of that, you can do so much more. In lane, since you WILL get poked, that's what your heal is for. You can either play the engage way (as in jumping in with that combo), or the disengage way, both works. Laning phase isn't everything, either.

Just dropping in a few ideas. Man, I'm so tired, but hope this helps.

Honorable mention for trying to get ahead in lane as support: (granted, all aggro supports may need some getting used to.)

Annie/Brand: Both have great damage, and have some decent CC to go along with it. Blitzcrank: Q+E combo is pretty ridiculous for getting kills.

On most of the aggro supports, if you are trying to get an early lead, a great idea would be to grab E instead of W. As soon as your support stuns, it's a great idea to throw chompers beneath their feet, so the arm time is basically negated by your ally's CC.

have you tried Soraka? She's kind of broken at the moment

if you want early game

Leona, Alistar, Thresh.

CC works very well with Jinx, since her chompers take time to wind up But the range is quite long, so the follow up potential is all up to how quickly your duo can respond. But since you guys are duo, it shouldn't be too hard to communicate a combo.

You start Q and then E for jinx, so lvl 1 lvl 2.

Maybe your partner grabs W next most of the time? I play Jinx and most of the time I grab E lvl 2.

Yea, we're about to play a game, I told him to grab E second, I picked up leona and we demolished a game. At the moment we do't really have voice communication because his english is not very good when he speaks it.

Well as duo it's still a good advantage to use voice comms.

You can simply create code meanings. Like " I go ADC " which could mean engaging.

You can relay a lot of messages within a short amount of words.
