Is league a game?

I've played league of legends since season 3 and it was still quite a fun game back then, I remember when I could play a game alone and still have fun and be pleased coming out of a potentially hour long game. Now all I've had in season 6 is long queues with absolutely toxic teams and afks so I've been trying to have fun with the game because I've given up on playing it to play the game for winning, I'm not even playing ranked at this point because there is no point to sitting there wasting my time when the team surrenders at the exact 20 min mark, even in normals I still get people who report me and are absolutely toxic to me for not trying my hardest to win every single game. What are your thoughts on this?

Much better XD and yea surrendering is annoying I remember those awesome games over an hour. They still happen.. just mostly premade vs. premade.

Yeah exactly :/ That's why I'm asking what I can even do with this game. I would really like to just not quit this game since I've put so much time and money into it but that's what It's looking like.

I've been playing a lot of rotating game mode recently. Sense it's something new and fresh and all that good jazz, a variety of skill level players are playing it. I haven't really seen too much toxicity there because mostly everyone is there just to have fun.

Aside from that though, I always enjoy ARAM for the most part. And while bots are still really easy, all the updates to them have made them a good bit stronger; so Co-op vs. AI can be pretty entertaining. That and you can always screw around with various champs in the jungle in bot games precisely because it's a bot game. (Though that is becoming less true with all the player bots now'a days.)

Oh, speaking of player bots actually; if you get in a game with 4 of them, you can chose a champ you're really good with, carry the whole game and still earn IP for it. That is actually pretty darn fun.

It is a game. A competitive game in which there is a winner and a loser in each and every game played. Two people play this competitive game. One that wants to have fun by winning and one that wants to have fun and don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. The second type of people are playing the wrong game, PERIOD.

But from my understanding of this. isn't a game meant to have FUN and not just play a GAME to win? I think that's a competition and not a game

It all depends on how you have fun like the first part of what he says. If you only have fun when you win than those other players are the ones ruining the fun for you. It is a competition at heart, the game of league that is.

You are playing with other people. If you were playing alone then have a blast however you want. This game was intended by RIOT to be played as a team working together to produce a positive result. Yes it is a game, a competitive game and if you treat it as such you will have more fun and less BS that you will receive from players who play it correctly. If you can't deal with a competitive player base then I suggest you move to another game where being competitive don't matter. It's people like you with that opinion that creates most of the toxicity in league. I really don't care what you think to be blunt. Doing whatever you want with total disregard to the goal of the game is wrong in a competitive game and you deserve all the backlash you receive.
