Nasus Rant
When I first started playing League over two years ago, I bought Nasus first. I bought him first because he looked cool. I kept playing because of his character. I remember wanting to buy all the Shurmian champs because I loved their lore, especially Nasus's.
As I played the champ more, I came to dislike his kit and playstyle. It is and continues to be boring and stagnate over the course of the game. I picked up Azir and had a lot more fun because his kit and gameplay were actually interesting. I really wish Nasus's kit was like that or at least more interactive.
Nasus is supposed to be a master strategist. I snagged this right out of his bio:
A voracious scholar, he read, memorized and critiqued the greatest works of history, philosophy and rhetoric within the Library of the Sun before he’d seen ten summers.
and
Nasus’s grasp on military strategy and logistics ensured he became the youngest general in Shuriman history. While he was a competent soldier, his genius lay not in fighting battles, but in planning them. His strategic foresight became legendary. In war, he was always a dozen moves ahead of the enemy, able to predict their movement and reactions, as well as pinpoint the exact moment to push the attack or pull back.
The in game representation of this is really poor. The most outplaying you're gonna do is wait for your opponent to blow their abilities and then pop your ult and run them down after you hid under your tower all game. His waveclear isn't even great for someone who just wants to farm. You'd think he would be closer to Swain the way his bio reads. He was obviously modelled after Anubis though, his passive and W were my first take aways from the wiki article on him.
I'm just disappointed Nasus is what he is. I wish his playstyle was more teamfighting orientated and accurately reflected his thematic. Not saying he should get changed though as he does have people who like him the way he is and I'm probably still gonna play him anyway. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk.
