A little rant you can give your humble opinion on :) (WARNING WALL OF TEXT)

TL;DR: In MY opinion league of legends really feels clunky and outdated and I'd love some of your guys' opinions on that matter.

/* Sorry about grammar mistakes you'll find, english isn't my first language. */

So I recently started to play LoL again after a pause of severel months like I allways do when see a shiny new skin, this time for Lee Sin, and noticed some stuff I haven't since for a few reasons.

Disclaimer: I'm not a high ELO player mainly because I never play ranked because I don't want that kind of stress while playing a game but I've played since season 2 and have, let's say, a good understanding of the game. So take this whole thing with a grain of salt and feel free to correct me on things I missjudged or just throw some immature language my way, I don't mind.

So I played around with the new and awesome practice tool league has and could recreate thing that allways bothered me whlie playing this game.

For instance: flashing over certain walls (based on distance travelled) makes my champion walk in a random direction I haven't clicked on which allways threw me of when I was playing the game. It's easyily recreateable and annoying af.

Minion agro, the distance they follow you and their general behavior is VERY random and I can't recreate certain behaviors I wan't them to do in game. This is imo very unintuitive... It allways threw me a curve ball while laining and caused some mayor salt. item 3070 item 3070

Pathfinding in LoL is messy af, especially around minions and those gates at the base walls. My character often "can't decide" where to go and ends up just flailing around instead of actually go where I want them to. This led to thousands of deaths in my history playing this game and probably took a few years of my life even though I really try not to be salty while playing league.

Also the movement of my character in general feels very clunky and delayed even though I play on a steady 26MS ping and locked on 60fps with FreeSync.

probably some rage inducing stuff coming next

I noticed this in particular because I've played a few rounds of a certain Blizzard moba game so I can get a few goodies for an other, fps oriented, Blizzard game and BOY it was an experience.

The movement in comparison was a blessing of the moba gods, I finally felt like I was in controll of my Hero for once and everything about the interactions between heros like slows, stuns and skill shots felt understandable and just right.

I really disliked the leveling system and most of the objectives the game had but hey the gameplay was tight and responsive.

Also the talents you can choose at certain levels that allow you to adapt to the game situation are genius.

I feel like most items in LoL just give you more stats and don't change the way you play very much except how much damage you dish out or how much you can tank. Furthermore it's a nightmare to balance champs AND the items around them which makes certain changes to items to death sentences for certain champs and makes others overpowered. Examples: item 3116 item 3147 item 3153 item 3748 item 3124 item 1401 item 3142 and a lot more. (It's almost harder to find items that weren't completely imbalanced at some point)

I could rant about balance decisions like summoner spells and objectives for another 500 lines but it's allready opinionated over kill where it stands.

NOW TO YOU:

I'd love to hear some opions on the core of the game in general from you guys. Have you experienced the same or similar things as I have? What of the games core would you like to improve or change? Do you fell like Leagues core is outdated? How much can you change without losing Leauges identity??? Are you coming back to the game after seeing some shiny new skin and get dissapointed by it every time??? Please tell me.

Love,

Your friendly neighborhood internet idiot, ranting about things he probably doesn't know s**t about but feels entitled enough to spout his opinions in random peoples faces anyways. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Item builds turn the game balance into an unending nightmare.

League needs to break its own meta. The longer they subscribe to the bland nature of their current meta, the more they'll be choking themselves out slowly but surely. And eventually, not so slowly.

They keep trying to make fights last shorter and shorter. Why?

Exactly.

I remember playing vs Zed with the old item 3147

He just AA and Q'd me (Jinx) and started spamming laugh until the Duskblade kicked in and I died....

Traumatic.

Not really. I have had minor problems with minion block in the past, but it doesn't really bother me much.

I don't know, I have some ideas, but most of the suggestions I've seen, make minion block only apply to enemies, for example, would negatively impact the games overall balance. I don't know the base mechanic well enough to predict how changing them could affect the game.

Not really. It looks well and good, functions well, and any problems that pop up are usually solved by Riot pretty quickly.

You can change all of League. League constantly changes and evolves as time goes on. Its part of what makes the game so enjoyable, and why it has been around for quite some time now.

Nope, I'm a poor college student, so skins don't really matter to me. I play League because I enjoy it.

League feels waaay better to me than HOTS for movement. given ive played like 1200 hours of league and maybe 100 of hots. But ive always founds hots to be the clunky one. The only think HOTS has over league in the movement department is Movement Queing. So i can actually decide my route.

Hots to me just doesnt really show whats going on as well as league does. Slows arent as apparent. I often get hit by CC and am thinking "What the hell hit me" Cause the animations arent always very visible. I also think HOTS has horrible balancing. so many things are obviously broken just by looking at them. Illadin for an example. every basic attack lowers his ability cooldowns by 1 second and he heals for 30% of ALL damage dealt. He has low cooldowns on his dash which is even shorter because of his passive + he gets a Jax E. Its so obviously broken that it makes the game less enjoyable.

TLDR I think you have the 2 experiences backwards. League is just a much more well polished game. While HOTS has more intersting mechanics on its heroes. Its just really poorly made. I still play it for shits and giggles every once and a while but the game is really just not amazingly well done.

I really don't think hots is a better game than lol other than the movement etc. as I mentioned. Even though the balance is a LOT better than Leagues.

I haven't played a hero I couldn't do well with in hots and most of their heroes except Cho'Gal are concidered viable in ranked play.

As for LoL when was the last time you saw Urgot Chogath DrMundo Malzahar Yorick Volibear Udyr Fiddlesticks RekSai Kindred Taric Karthus Nocturne Mordekaiser etc.?

The meta champion pool in lol is really small...

Hey I play Yorick Chogath DrMundo Fiddlesticks Mordekaiser Yorick top is good. Nobody knows how to counter it. And mordekaiser support is good U get a freaking dragon.

I played Tryndamere vs Yorick the other day and he just fed me like crazy... Seemed to me like he pretty much doesn't do anything, he's not tanky, does no damage and has no CC or mobility and also doesn't stand a chance vs Tryn while split pushing.

I'm shure Tryn is at leat semi viable so this comparison should be some what legit.

i see a lot of those champions excluding Noct, Udyr, Voli, and Taric.

Also Cho is played almost every game cause he is broken right now
