Mid Lane Champion Pool

Hello everyone! I have never posted here before, hah, but I am a support main turned mid lane main (of course I still play support, it's awesome!) and I'm working my way up to go into ranked. This won't be for a while as I have lots of little things to practice on, but my question for you guys is, when it comes to mid lane, how does my champion pool look? It's a lot of AP, but any suggestions are welcome. I won't be getting rid of any of the following champions, but any suggestions on ones to maybe pick up would be nice. Thanks!

So far I play: Ahri (Quite practiced) Lux (Quite practiced) Azir (I'm level 4 with him but still learning! What would you expect form an Azir player? Hahhh) Teemo Lissandra Zed Aurelion Sol (Still learning) Kassadin Xerath Anivia Veigar (Very much still learning, hah) Morgana Orianna (still learning) Ekko (pretty good) Diana (have yet to buy her, but I like her a lot)

I was thinking of adding someone like Riven or another AD character but I don't know if that's necessary, hah.

just a tip, if you really want to climb just spam 1 champion and maybe have 1 or 2 back ups, the less champs the better, thats how most people get to high elo

I would say drop Teemo cuz he doesn't do a traditional mid lanes job well. And if you're considering adding an AD try Jayce.

My pool is a bit smaller than yours which is also good because you end up better at certain matchups. You can get away with playing 3 assassins and like 3-5 aoe control/poke mages and be fine. Really you only need like one or two assassin.

If you ever lack confidence, brush up on your Morgana and Zilean.

If your opponent picks Fizz, definitely pick Zilean. He's an obnoxious bastard for snowballing midlaners to face, and his utility keeps him relevant all game long.

teemo mid is quite terrible. teemo is weak to all ins and weak against any champion that has ranged harass. which almost all mid laners do. and again. weak to burst. and has no waveclear compared to mid laner. teemo lacks everything a mid laner needs.

also to climb just spam few champions. 2-3

Out of curiosity, what supports do you play?

Something I like to do with a lot of champions is to learn to play them in a few different roles that they can potentially succeed in. This gives you a unique perspective on how your champion plays when faced with situations they don't normally face and gives you a lot of power in being able to flex pick your champion in multiple roles. In particular, if you play Lulu support or some mage supports (eg. Brand or Vel'Koz) you might want to try picking up some of those champions in the mid lane. You already know how they play, but you just need to adapt how they play for the mid lane.

That said, it's not always a benefit to learn a lot of champions. It's nice to have all those counterpicks available, but if you have two or three champions you know really well you could probably play them better in even or bad matchups than knowing 15 champions, trying to figure out which champion would be the best counterpick to what the opponent is playing, and then have your counterpick not work because you aren't well practiced on the champion in the given matchup.

In my opinion, having 1 main and 2-3 secondaries is ideal because you get that one champion that you are comfortable blind picking into whatever and 2-3 secondaries that can deal with either counterpicks from the enemy team or cover different kinds of team comps your main normally wouldn't fit.

Try Ahri mid,she is top pick and doesn't require any special skills,as much as she's very forgiving

Your champion pool is fine for mid-lane, but you would want to set-up go-to champions for mid lane when your playing ranked against certain match-ups.
