I main support and over time I've come to see that it's an underappreciated position. Try a bunch of games with Thresh. If you get good with him you'll really like Support. Nami is also fun.
You talking about normals? You don't always have to play a Support character if it isn't ranked. To have fun you could play Shaco, Blitzcrank, LeBlanc and whatnot. Just don't flame your team.
