Simple math: Zyra's Plants & Skill Points

Let's take a look at Zyra's 'W,' Rampant Growth which places and upgrades plants:

Skill points applied add a percentage health to the plants: RampantGrowthSkill = ( 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%)

Zyra's plants have a starting health of 5 hit points. So multiplying them together: StartingHeath x RampantGrowthSkill = ( 5.5 hitpoints, 6 hitpoints, 6.5 hitpoints, 7 hitpoints, 7.5 hitpoints )

What is the minimum damage output of a melee minion? 12 hitpoints.

It seems that Zyra's plants are one-hit kills no matter how many points are put into the skill, which begs the question why does the health skill progression exist?

to make it look complicated

Let me suggest that percentage progression is such a familiar concept to developers that no actual math takes place when considering it's application. To counter that type of generic usage, examine the output before implementation.

Example Suggestion What if one additional melee minion attack worth of sustain is purchased with each skill point?

MeleeHit = 12 hp DesiredHealthProgression = MeleeHit x ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) = (12 hp, 24 hp, 36 hp, 48 hp, 60 hp) PlantHealth = MeleeHit + DesiredHealthProgression

One of your links doesn't work, and the other is only about minion data. I'm relatively sure that Zyra's plants don't have the hitpoints that champions and minions do, but rather the type of hitpoints that teemo shrooms do. It's the number of hits they can take regardless of AD. Though I think the number of hits takeable may be different for ranged and melee champions.

If you hit a Zyra plant with any champion, you'll realize quickly that this isn't true. No champion, regardless of how much AD they have, can possibly one-hit a plant. This is because plants take specified and unchanging amounts of damage based on the source of damage. The actual incoming damage value is completely and utterly irrelevant.

Here's how plant health works: minions deal 1 damage, champion basic attacks deal 2, AoE abilities deal 3, other abilities and dragon deal 4, and turrets, smite, feast and consume deal 6.

No. Minions only deal a point of damage per attack. That means it takes 4 to 6 hits from one minion to kill a plant. (Because, you should know, that's their actual health range)

From that same website, a list of Damage Received Modifiers

Meanwhile back in Easy and Intuitive town... Zyra's 'W' gives a ridiculously low health range, far under what any source of damage produces, which has thereafter been justified with an exception process.

It is better to recognize the fruits of such work are going to be additional unforeseen consequences and headaches, and to instead work towards a unified hit-point system.
