@Riot if you want to make AP Shaco viable, you should take the 'disable traps' function off sweepers

You'd think that revealing invisible traps would be enough...

Anyone with a reliable and quick engage can completely disable all of Shaco's boxes in an area instantly just by toggling their on as they engage.

Unsatisfying seeing all that setting up as Shaco going to waste because this trinket covers basically the entire lane.

Even with the ult change, Shaco's teamfights are still going to be trash as long as this item exists (or remains unchanged). Until then, we'll have to settle with split pushing and picking off the enemy carries as we have been doing for years now.

Same thing happens with Teemo. It's even worst on alternate modes like ARAM.

While counteracting his shrooms is good, there is definitely a point where playing him becomes worse because of a free item the enemy gets. It's definitely not that they're countering his shrooms even, but that they're countering ALL of his shrooms. It doesn't matter how cleverly you've placed them when it comes to the sweeper.

The duration of it and it's cooldown mean that it's always up for just a single champ to use when it counts, which is annoying in itself, much less when an entire enemy team starts using them. It means that if your team actually has been warding, oftentimes the sweeper is better on account of the enemy team just getting a free wipe of all your placed vision. (Counter-play aside I mean, take advantage of when they try that definitely if you can.) Trinket-wise, it's a counter with no counter. It'd be like rock-paper-scissors where rock could never beat scissors. Scissors always wins.

Just played AP Shaco and I've never felt more useless (despite having the most kills) playing against a Hecarim who would toggle his item 3364 just before he ulted or engaged with E.

look. while your idea seems to be decent if you only think about shaco. if you thinnk about other champions it messes up.

Imagine not being able to disable teemos shrooms with a sweeper. >.<

I'm not really sure if Riot is into the whole plant a million boxes into a bush and then have them nuke some unlucky incomer with no interaction on Shaco's behalf.

the issue i have with it not "disabling" the boxes is that if your a melee champ you cant GET in melee range to clear the box WITHOUT it attacking you and fearing you
