Zhonya's

The alteration to Zhonya's is something that a lot of people have taken well to with the new 10% cdr for the expense of 30 ap. Also, the active ability where you become invulnerable and immobile for a short time is a very useful tool. However, there is an inconsistency when I comes to certain champions whose abilities remain active even when in zhonya's. For example, many people will activate Kennen or Fiddlesticks' ultimate attacks and then immediately activate zhonya's. This seems to be both inconsistent and have no counter-play due to the fact that most champions cease all activity while in zhonya's. Also, the aoe damage of both said champions makes team fighting almost impossible. Why is it that champions like Fiddlesticks and Kennen can use their ultimates while in zhonya's when all other champions cannot?

Ults that come from fiddle and kennen dont channel. they activate, and they do their thing. Now a Janna ult on the other hand is channeled, she cant zhonya her ults (and thank god for that). Ults like xerath's also cannot be zhonya'd. the ult activates but req's more to do its thing. Pretty sure karthus ult cant be zhonya'd either, but not sure.

To clear one thing up tho, Fiddle's ult DOES take a few seconds to cast. zhonya DURING this few second window and his ult WILL fail. Zhonya AFTER his cast ends and he's pissing in your cheerios, and let the wizz continue.

Walk out of the ults? They can't move while they're Zhonya'd. These are the only ways these champions you've mentioned can survive while ulting. Without Zhonya's all you'd have to do to beat Fiddle is just kill him. The same is true of a champion like Anivia. You can leave your ult on while you're Zhonya'd for maximum damage output.

Both Kennen and Fiddlesticks can do this simply because their ults are AOE that surround them for a few seconds. Once active it's to late to stop them from having those AOEs. This is why item 3157 does nothing about their ults.

Swain can do the with his ult.

It's consistent.

Zhonya's doesn't stop or remove any effects on you, or prevent beneficial effects from allies from helping you. It only makes you invulnerable to damage, unable to be selected (aka targeted) by allies and enemies, and prevents you from moving, casting or channeling. None of those things would turn off kennen ulti or fiddle ulti after the channel has completed.

Those specific examples have counterplay.

The counterplay to fiddlesticks or kennen ulti is to get out of their immediate area, and fiddle or kennen immobilizing themselves actually makes that easier than normal.

Because there's a counterplay called vision not to mention hourglass still has all the counterplay it usually has.
