Another Way To Play Yuumi

Message for ADCs or hosts in general when playing with Yuumi :

  • Work on your positioning.
  • Dodge skillshots better.
  • Don't be a coward.
  • Take responsibility for your actions. Don't blame your support.

Message for all the Yuumi players out there:

  • Don't spoil your host, healing a lot may be fun and might impress your companion, you might even be tempted to top your ally off, but only do it if you know there are no immediate threats present and you have time to build a second stack of Zoomies. Healing too much may encourage your host to continuously make bad trades with an enemy opponent, you also want to be sure you have mana available in the long run, or stacks on your zoomies if things turn south.

  • TAKE summoner 4 . People think, they can rely on your W to escape or reposition for survival, but this is unreliable. You can be caught while trying to save yourself. If there are no allies nearby, your W is useless. (Assuming your host died.)

  • Why should you take flash? You can make plays with your ult, you can escape if no allies are nearby and your host dies. You can flash to an ally you're just out of reach and then W so you wont need to use your E for a speedup, wasting heal potential.
  • Stay on a teammate. You should only unlink if you are looking to bop and block, bait or block a lethal skillshot for your host.

  • Aery is probably Yuumi's best keystone by far. HOWEVER, if you take Unbinded Spellbook, you can start the game with summoner 11 + summoner 4 to help your jungler at all phases of the game on camps, this will make your jungler's clears much faster and they'll favor you and likely gank your lane more because they can see you're resourceful. You also get access to summoner 13 , for mana restoration on your host or yourself if you/they really need it. You can use summoner 12 , summoner 14 , summoner 3 and summoner 7 if your adc's heal is down. There are so many options.

  • I know the support item line is going to be reworked soon, but don't take something like item 3303 that requires you to poke in order to generate income.

  • Why shouldn't you take spellthief over item 3301 ? Spellthief leaves you open for attack because you need to either basic attack or cast a spell affecting the enemy to generate more income. Spellthief is not economically consistent. You need to wait for stacks. If your stacks are maxed you miss out on potential income because you're not using those stacks and sometimes it isn't favorable to proc it depending on many things like current positioning.

Your Q at earlier ranks and in the early game is too mana consuming and your Q tickles and is only useful for a small slow.

  • Why to take ancient coin (Before it gets removed) If you're on your ally, you're always near minions and you pick up gold and delicious mana, which btw the mana coins are more regen than the passive mana regen on spellthief. It increases max health, offsetting your squishy early game. Your HP regen is increased, so if you take damage while trying to proc your passive, you can link to your ally and passively regen hp faster. IT'S MORE MONEY.
  • Take item 3363 . (I honestly don't see why more supports don't take this.) Unless you have an invisible host or a team of assassins, take item 3364 .
  • Why? Farsight doesn't count toward your ward limit, they don't expire and are a good idea to line your side of the field with vision to protect your jungler's camps and your teammates from back ganks. Combo this with your stealth wards from completing your support quest, you can ward your enemies jungle or anywhere to have sight of the enemy. YOU CAN ALSO CAST THIS WARD FROM FAR AWAY, SO YOU DON'T NEED TO RUN OFF AND RISK GETTING CAUGHT OUT OR ABANDONING BOT LANE.
  • Buy a item 2055 at level 1, not a item 2003 . You don't need potions because you're a healer and wont be getting poked much because of your link ability. Put the control ward in your tribush, this protects you from back ganks and the ward doesn't expire until an enemy kills it.

  • Have your ADC take summoner 12 , you can tp with them.

  • Encourage your team to pick good team fight champions. Yuumi thrives late game and she's a goddess in teamfights.

  • Try to get your "ADC" to pick a mage, they're more useful with her because her W gives more adaptive. Try to get another lane to be a marksman, like Ashe or Cait top. This way, in the late game you'll have all the damage you need and the enemy top laner (who's probably melee) will be stunted.

Spell Book is being completely reworked. Don’t take it.
