Why Don't We Have Logical Mouse Commands? (Single Click Commands)

Heya Rito and friends...

I've always wondered why the mouse-click interface is designed like it is. Yes, League was born of Starcraft, and in Starcraft the right-click is king...

But does it have to be that way with League?

Sure, let your classic gamers play their classic way (if you must). ;)

But riddle me this....

Every keyboard stroke has one (and only one) game input.

  • If I press 1 then my item slot #1 is activated.
  • If I press F I use a summon ability.
  • If I hit R I use my ult.
  • Etc.

But when it comes to the mouse, left click is only useful with the interface or while casting an ability, meanwhile right click is jam packed with options.

A 'single input = single output' may not be possible, why not make a simpler, more logical setup possible?

I've always wondered why the game's mouse commands were not set up like this:

Left Click (User Interface / Attack)

  • Clicks on the user interface with Alt, Tab and other cool communication abilities just like it does now.
  • Clicking on the game area causes the champion to ATTACK (and attack only) that location, if it is in range. [May be toggled to attack move mouse.]
  • SHIFT Left Clicking the game area activates Attack Move Mouse. [May be toggled to a simple movement comment, without attacking or to Attack Move.]
  • Activating an ability and then using Left Click will function as it does now to 'release/cast' to ability.

Right Click (Move Only)

  • Clicks on user interface act as they do now (practically nothing).
  • Clicking on the game area causes the champion to MOVE (and move only) to that location. All potential targeting is ignored.

I've been testing out this configuration by using the existing League options, and carefully using right-click to move without targeting while only using Left Click "Attack Move Mouse" to see if it's viable.

I find the game to be much more straightforward, and the commands are far simpler.

The only problem is that because the current setting options don't allow for a true version of this, sometimes (in the case of a mis-click) my champion is subject to the "other" way of doing things (like attacking a minion when I wanted them to move there).

I'd really love to see this logical/straightforward style supported properly.

Thanks for reading!

you have left clip option to attack in the game I dont see the problem and you can remove attack target from right-click in option if you go set it up ... and you can also make left clip attack only champions and make it attack only champions move attack ... you can also make any key bind in-game attack or rebind abilities in-game ... personally I dont use qwer as abilities I use asdf and bound my attack move is on right click and move click is on the left side and you can set it up in the game options as you wish no macro from third parties needed, they try to remove that with razer hex naga came up made people ban because of macro use that the mouse used to have (and still has)
