Trying to understand new LeBlanc. (please read if you're from Riot, just want some feedback)

Hello,

I'm a Platinum player with LeBlanc as my most played champion. I guess I'm pretty much a fan, since I own all her skins and somewhat take pride in playing the champion. I think most people who play her for fun do as well. Anyway, enough introductions and straight to business;

--What exactly was your idea into creating this new version of LeBlanc?--

Before even answering this, let's take a look at what was LeBlanc before this season's patch. She was a high burst assassin with very risky potential and an enormous window to make plays. Very little to "deceive" coming straight from her kit, but a lot of good potential coming from your own creativity. (this is undeniably true)

Now looking at new LeBlanc, she feels clunky. It mostly has to do with the change from her "R", I believe. The toggle option is making it... not harder, but more annoying in my opinion. That combined with the change on her Q, passive, and cooldowns. Imagine in the middle of a fight, you wanna go for a certain kill, (you "W" to an enemy and the passive will start to load at 1.5s... meanwhile I suppose the smart idea would be a "ER" for the double chain damage followed by "Q".) While all this is happening, the enemy has 1.5s to decide whether to engage LeBlanc or not. What mid laner doesn't have the chance to one shot LeBlanc as a squishy mage in the meantime? (Zed, Fizz, Syndra, Malz, Ori, Annie, Viktor, etc; ) If built correctly, even the squishy ones will survive our 'assassination'. And the tanky (Swain?) will simply eat the damage and throw a snare and retaliate.

Passive is nice, but added with the problems below it has made her rather useless in what is supposed to be her "highest point" as assassin. . "Q" changes have made it nothing more than a farming tool. . "W" is still required for wave clear, making Q useless (except as a farming/harass tool, again) . "E" is very strong now, if you were to change her in any way you'd be mindful on how this affect her damage. . "R" is clunky. It's messy. It's also not good enough, not anywhere good enough. The old R was much more relevant in allowing you to make quick decisions on your enemy. Quick decisions are necessary when playing squishy assassin mages. Because, you are squishy. (some will say it allows you to create new combo combinations btw... yes, I suppose something like Q > W > RQ > E is not possible. but at what point? you still have all these charge times and cooldowns that your enemy will eat you. the problem here is not having enough damage because of the passive-target-cooldown)

What I'm trying to get at is.... I just don't see the point in playing LeBlanc over all the other mages? Like yeah you gave us wave clear, that's cool, but is this really the purpose of this champion? Also was this the best you could do with your new "deceiving" tool? An annoying toggle that seriously gets in the way when you're trying to combo, has 120s cooldown, lasts for 1 second as soon as it meets an enemy champion; and it better works as a walking vision ward tbh.

Her new "kit" is not suitable for proper assassination. It isn't as great as other champions for wave clearing, she's NOT a deceiver for anyone with a brain. You took creativity out of a champion in exchange of built-in deception tools. But those tools aren't great enough.

I don't know about other players, but I would seriously vote for a reverse change on her R. Or something about her passive/proc charging up really slowly for a champion that needs to put herself at risk every time she goes for a kill. You're giving the enemy too much free time to make decisions including the 5s cooldown on same target.

You're trying to build in some utility on her. It's interesting, I'm not all against it, but I can't help but feel you've taken an axe to the champion.

Thanks for reading.

Leblanc . . . . . . . . (if I were to recommend changes I'd base it around reverting R, dealing with cooldowns on passive or finding new ways to proc it within her abilities. The old clone was seriously much more useful than the new. Perhaps you'd like to simply integrate it with whenever she uses R? Or do give it some cooldown (not insane 120s..) but allow it to show up during the mimic as well for confusion, and you can even be creative to code it to use at max 3 more abilities but maybe that's a little too broken imo )

the R change is gonna take some getting used to, but it is overall better since you can choose which spell u wanna use instead of having to always use a copy of the last one u used.

This.

I find it hard to believe that OP is Platinum if his main complaint is "I have to re-learn how to play a reworked champion." Yes, OP. Yes you have to press buttons differently on a newly reworked champion. That is how reworks are. The QWER do different things now.

Okay, I wrote that in my main post the reason why and wrote it again to the first person explaining that the R issue isn't the main problem (more of a personal dislike). But combined with the passive cooldown it makes her "burst" irrelevant. The toggle is useless, it's not good enough. All they have to do is see you on the minimap. "Then don't show"... you're just not realizing it's not a good trade-off if anyone here says that.

I will just either watch this thread die or until someone willing to open their eyes read what has been said. It's pointless repeating myself.

That's what I mentioned, but again, like I said there's a cooldown on same-target passive proc. I've been building pure damage but that allows enemies to escape her much more, allows for much more counter-play, and you're putting yourself at very high risk for very low reward. Why is it different from other champions? Because you need to stay there to wait for the proc. And they will catch you. You are still squishy. Nothing from that part has changed.

I find their answer to this problem is to build roa very uncreative. Isnt tanky assassins what you wanted to remove eh riot. What bugs me most is that her ult aside from E has no interaction with her passive. Most champions have very streamlined synergy within their ult and passive, but this mitigates the merits of using QRQ. Passive timer reductions are a must.

Actually, all u really need to do is go In and out of the fight. U dont really need to stay unless you know u wil get the kill.

U dont have to commit 100% to the kill if you can't . The window is wide enough for u to go at it again.

Slowing down the Burst combo was the goal for just about all the assassins. Though I think the issue might be that leblanc doesn't have and defensive, mobility, or stealth tools that made the other assassins a bit more persistent.

My advice, don't open with your distortion. poke them with either your shattered orb, or your chains. (even if you don't get the root) then use the distortion to proc the passive once it's ready, and snap back when your done. At least this way, you shouldn't be in melee range of your target, waiting for the passive to proc.
