Riot actually came out and said that there shen rework was a bust and the whole floating sword mechanic was pretty akward. Which is for sure! They will definitly give him a secound rework however that wont come for a lloonngg time they said :/ my guess, about 2 seasons from now

That seems unwise for a champion that's viable in pro play.

Just revert his stupid rework while keeping the visual upgrades.

The mechanics he got are gimmicky AF and doesn't feel nearly rewarding enough for the hassle you have to go through in using them.
