NO BLUE ESSCENCE FOR GAMES? WHAT ARE THESE CHANGES?

I have been playing this game for a while and I've always loved this game. But with these changes It's impossible to play for new players. Im a one trick and dont get any chests usually. Why am I getting punished and shit on when I prefer to play one champion? I CANT GET NEW BLUE ESSCENCE NOW BECAUSE I DONT GET CHESTS. Even if I did get chests, it would take roughly a couple hunrded games to get the blue essence from chests alone just to buy something with 6300 blue essence. A champion, rune page, WHATEVER. And your only aloud to have two runepages?? This change is laughable. I don't want those disgusting preset runes that you give out, thanks though. You are punishing your players with a terrible system designed for the player to waste their lives and play 20,000 games just to get level 100 and enough blue essence to buy 10 champions. No wonder everyone is quitting this game, if this is the way the game I loved for so long has now been ruined with disgusting changes just to make a quick buck? I'm done with this game.

First up you get Shards every time you level, every 25 levels is a milestone and provides extra swag thou the extend of this currently remains to be seen. So you can 1 trick and still get BE, your standard hex tech loot remains unchanged. A trick I have used for chests is to que with a buddy whos on a main champion and can reliably get S ranked to unlock chests on any off champion your playing thru the que benefits, this will help minimize the time your not playing a main and maximize down time on chest CDs and free loot.

Far as games to hit level 100, its possible to pull that off with something like 700 games over the year. I think the worst case BE drops from level gains puts one at roughly 9 levels to unlock new champions, which should be pretty easy to do over 45 days so its fairly similar to previous IP grind rate. I'm doing the math fairly loosely here and biasing a lot of my numbers off the worst case, low BE shards and High account level.

Personally I leveled up in 2 days and so I would see enough BE at about 18 days as this pace to unlock a new 6300 champion I did not have a shard for. Only I did not get the worst case shard and had about 900 BE value from my level up so if that trend sticks only takes me 14 days, at the rate of 2 games per day. As you can see the amount of games folks play to level will vary quite a bit.

If you spend all year playing casually and hit that level 100 you have enough essence to buy only 7 ish new champions, which is not much if you don't own champions but theres other options on how add content to your account. The plus is if your maxed account you will have a pretty easy time keeping up with releases. For newer level 30 accounts they have options, fill in blank spots via upgrading shards they get thru RNG for a discount, and mystery champion which cuts down the cost of champion almost in half once your eliminate the RNG of lower cost champions out of it, or still generate enough BE as an older account to exclusively purchase 7 champions they absolutely must have.

So still will take accounts over a year or So to unlock all content but that's business as normal in league. I recall it took me 2+ years to finally own all champions and have a decent set of runes. If you need to speed it up cave and throw the RP at them, but the slow grind for all champions remains the same and is a substantial commitment of time just like it has been for years.

I hope that was helpful to you and please let me know if you have any questions or are unclear, I'm about to crash for the night but I will follow up if you need further help when I get home from my shift tomorrow. Night mate and be well.

The BE gain is worse than the IP gain. Not for the first 10-20 levels, but once you start to hit the higher levels the required games to level will be so high that you will end up with a net loss. For it to be worthwhile you need to level up in roughly 10 games. If you arent doing that the old IP system gives more.

Now think ahead to the XP increase cap at level 150. If we think about how much more it takes per level its gonna probably take 20 games to level at that point so your BE gain is going to be half of the old IP gain. And thats if we are lucky. Dont know how many games it will take at 150, But im guessing somewhere around 40. So its going to be 1/4 the old gain. Its going to be terrible.

Well yes, its gonna suck for folks who play some 10+ games a day, but for folks who do 1-4 matches I dont see it as crippling. Also the dudes doing 10+ will still gain levels faster even if their net BE gain is lower then IP. Its not costing you content players want, at its worst its a bit more of a time sink between unlocking champs you want.

I took my numbers for EXP from mortdogs post .

Mortdog (NA)  - 2 months ago 25 games is not actually how it will play out for most players: An average game will give you approximately 200xp. Win of the Day will give you around 575xp. The lowest amount of XP to level (from 30-31) is 2500xp. The highest amount of XP to level (from 174-175) is 4600xp. Because of this, if you play 2 games a night, and win 1, it will actually only take 10 games to level even at the hardest part of the curve."

I just cant see a consistent player taking longer then 1 week to unlock a level, and it should be some 5-8 levels for the required BE to unlock who ever they want, so you still see folks getting Champions they want every month and a half, which has been my experience with grinding IP.
