How to play better in a lower elo

Diªna··3 votes·718 views

Hello guys my name is Tyler and i'm here to hopefully help you with your gameplay and help you grind out of that lower elo! (Even though I am silver :P)

Due to my amount of game experience I know what works in the game and what doesn't. You may not be grinding and gaining elo due to the fact that you play early game cheese champions or due to the fact that you still haven't full gotten the jist of how to build all your champions or whether you haven't gotten the champions select down yet.

There are many key components that go into winning a game and some are very simple. Some of these things may just be how to itemize against the enemy team and some of them may just be communication and talking with your team mates. I have been on a team before so i personally know how key communication is. Whether its just a couple pings or not could make the difference for a lane. IF you ping that your lane is mia you can make sure that other lanes play safer and that they don't get caught being over extended then getting ganked by your lane (This will make them rage if you don't signal :P) Other things just as saying good job to a person after they get a kill or when they make a good play can give them more incentive to do better in this game.

Lets start off with just saying that most games can be decided in champion select but its not always a Garen teed win. When you are in champion select make sure that you work with your teammates on the picks and bans. Make sure that you get three prefered bans of your team then make sure that you try to build your comp around one or two people. Building the comp around one or two people should give the jungler the incentive to camp these lanes and try to get them fed if they are getting shoved in. Building your comp around the ADC or the Mid laner can have it so that your team can either be an all in comp or they can be a protect the ADC comp and both of these comps work very well. If you pick early game cheese champions at least make sure that you are grabbing objectives and that you are closing out the game early so that they can't come back and win.

Alright now on to more stuff. Building your champion :D. When you are building your champion don't always go the same build every game and don't always go the recommended items because these items don't work in every situation. For example if you are the ADC and you normally build lets sayitem 3508 but there is a crazy tank on the enemy team. Are you really going to continue to build the same item? Well lets hope not. If you itemize for the enemy team and instead of getting that item you get this item 3036 this will allow you to kill the tank earlier and make teamfights a lot easier. Building correctly is a key essential to the game since how you build will shape just how strong you are. Pay attention to the enemy team and focus on how they build and adapt to it. Here is another example. So in the mid lane there are two close range mids lets say Ekko and Fizz Now lets say the ekko is building item 3174 you may want to itemize into an item 3001 This item will help you against the ekko due to the fact that it will not only give you ap but it will also lower his MR and give you MR.

Thats about all I have for now so I hope that this helped :). If you still seem to be struggling I would love to help anyone that needs it so don't be afraid to add me and give me a shout!. Hope this helped everyone :D

What role do you suggest to carry. I've noticed my teammates make easy mistakes and I usually crap on people in lane. I typically play mid and jung. And had really bad placements. I will climb out of bronze easy just should take some time and would like to know how to quickly climb. Ive noticed support and adc relies too much on bad teammates and that expecting better ends up with disappointment except for like every 9 games or so but it's not very good trying to climb like that.

I'm low elo, but I try to record my win rates on my roles. That's what happened last season and I turned out Silver, but barely played that much ranked.

My map awareness is alright about high silver level. But as a sup or jung I keep track of junglar and place deep wards.

The roles that I personally carries myself with are Mid and Jungle. When you play mid lane you should chose a mid laner that not only works for your lane but that works with you team. My favorite mid laners are Annie and Lissandra. These two mid laners have great potential and they are able to easily farm and they are able to easily win lane against many people due to their shoving potential. When you shove your lane make sure that you do something productive. If you see that bot lane is over extended go for a gank that in turn will lead to a free dragon as long as you call you jungler over to the bot side or it could lead to a free top since their jungle may come down for the counter gank leaving top open for a good gank and then a shove. When play jungle you can either play a heavy damage carry or you could play someone that is based around your team and help that way. My two favorite junglers to play are Gragas and Rengar. Rengar can be a very good jungler but you need to make sure that you pay attention to not only your team comp but the enemy team comp as well. If you need to be able to do damage since you have a heavy tank team then take the rengar and melt their carries :). If you see that your team isn't all the tanky then grab a gragas. Gragas is such a strong tank its stupid. At late game you have great cooldowns and you are able to have massive amounts of health and armor and MR while being able to do damage and set up great plays. Back to rengar for a moment. With rengar you are going to want to make sure that you get ganks when you can but if you don't see any ganks go for the jungle and make sure that you grab wards for your team mates and that you make sure you are grabbing objectives when possible. Okay Gragas again. With gragas you are able to catch people out easily and peel very hard for your mid laner, top laner, or the ADC and this helps a lot. being gragas as well you will build full tank.

Ex Build: item 1401 item 1321 item 3800 item 3110 item 3065 item 3742

This build will allow you not only to do damage to the enemy team but it will allow you to survive a long time and make sure that you can peel hard for those carries of yours. Okay you also said that your teammates seem to struggle in lane often. As a jungler make sure as i have mentioned already before that you grab wards for them if they are struggling and make sure that you communicate with them letting them know when you are coming and when you see the enemy jungler going for a gank. This will allow them time to get out or it will allow them to bait and play and you can come down for the counter gank and boom free kills!

If you have any further questions don't afraid to ask! :D

my question :(

Why would anyone want advice about climbing from someone who's in silver? Wouldn't it make more sense to get advice from someone who's climbed OUT of silver?

If you really have that many games played, you should know better than to try and help people in bronze. You shouldn't waste your time on them, you should look to improve your own play first.

No one is a waste of time. Everyone is looking to improve at the game and try to better themselves. I play the game for fun and i enjoy that so I try to help who I can so that they may improve at the game.

I thought your post was good. I started the game about a week and a half ago (give or take) and I have learned a lot since then. I'm lucky though because I have a new roommate who's been playing for 6 years and he sits in the background coaching me from time to time. Some of the tips in your post are similar to what he tells me. That being said, I still need to be reminded of the little things to be aware of. For example, trying to pay attention more to the mini map and using PING. Also, the items you buy throughout the game are essential too, and I've been experimenting more and making quicker decisions. Your post isn't useless and I'm glad to have read it to keep my mind keen.

Thank you.

Im glad I could help! Here is a link to a youtube video that you should play while you play league of legends. This youtube video says the word "Map" throughout the whole video at about 5 second intervals and this will remind you to look at the map! I hope this helps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7GXTxzs-ts
