Master Yi actually is really strong right now

At least that's how I feel. He has fast jungle clear and can sustain with meditate quite well, keeping him healthier than many other junglers. Stalker's Blade (and so chilling smite) gives him an actual cc to be a threat for laners. Devourer is strong giving 2 stacks for all kills ánd assists, and you don't lose any upon death (like Mejai's). Games still go late often. Dragon buffs are ridiculous on Yi (6% extra AD, 5% increased movement speed and 15% more damage to towers after just 3 dragons) Inhibitor towers don't slow Yi during his ultimate Optionally can work around not having flash, and take teleport, which I find really strong to defend towers, attack towers and cut off runaways after skirmishes/teamfights or to just gank a lane from behind/countergank a dive.

So why can't Yi be strong again?

He still blows up quicker than throwing matches onto hydrogen balloon if he is given a cc besides slow into his face in the middle of a teamfight.

With tons of counter play options available, let him have his late game he deserves, if he can make it there with reasonable amount of kills/farm under his belt and a cunning head on the shoulder.

I certainly don't mind him being strong, since he's one of my most played champions. It's just that I don't see him often.

Yi is feast or famine, and usually it's famine against good players who understand how to counter him. I'd say that overall he's pretty much a middle of the pack jungler. One of the big issues with him is that he doesn't give kills to his lanes very well, taking them for himself instead, and often leads to him getting fed only to fall flat late due to being so vulnerable to cc and burst damage.

Hyper carries in general are toxic for this game, and ALL of them are vulnerable to CC and somewhat squishy. These so called "weaknesses" do not justify his late game. I agree, nerf them all (especially Tryndamere).
