Why is a support thats lacking behind able to just 1v1 whenever he wants??

So, I just played a ranked game. I was playing Caitlyn. We had a pretty decent laning phase, we got 2 turrets on bot and i was 5/2 while their Ashe was 1/3 and their Pyke was 1/1. We also were winning top lane and mid lane and by 20th minute we got to their inhibitors. Easy game right? Well, no. You see, Pyke sold his support items and he went full lethality. Duskblade, Yoummus,... By the 30th minute of the game Pyke was 10/1. he was able to one shot me and could easily 1 v 1 our Riven and Zed. They just went pushing and in the next 5 minutes Pyke got 10 more kills, and they destroyed our nexus.

Now, to the person at riot that thought it would be a good idea to make a support that can always go full lethality and just hard carry the whole team: -Fuck you.
