Returning Vet, rate/critique my S6 Lineup

Xanu··1 votes·879 views

I'm a former platinum level player for both Seasons 1 and 2 and at my highest, was in the top 400 at the start of S2. S3 I had a losing streak and never bothered completing my placements. I returned a month ago for Season 5 and it's been a humbling experience. I feel completely new again with new items, meta, and champions. I completed my placement matches and ended in Gold III and have barely climbed my way to Gold II.

Here is my champion lineup so far:

Midlane: Morgana(Preferred), Vladimir, Anivia Toplane: Garen(Preferred), Malphite, Morgana, Vladimir. Strongly considering Shen for global presence but worry for his lategame viability. Jungle: Udyr(Preferred), Warwick, Amumu Support: Sona (Considering learning Leona or Alistar?) ADC: Caitlin(Preferred), Miss Fortune, Kog'maw

I'm sticking to my old favorites because I just don't know the other champions yet, but I'm looking to have a strong presence that can make plays across the map. As you can see support my weakest role, and ADC I find I'm not able to make the plays I need to make that can snowball a victory. What champions should I add to this lineup, or even remove, and why? Again, I'm looking to make as big of impact as I can to make my 20% contribution of the team a stronger deciding factor than just being another member playing it safe.

if you can already play morg mid you may want to learn how to sup with her. shen can also top or sup. Your champion poo as it seems fine. I know your just returning, but you may want to check out Tahm Kench. He can sup top or jg. Just offering some advice, good luck in your games

I'll look into Tahm Kench. I've seen him in a few games and he has always seemed a solid pick and is deceptively tanky too. Thanks. As for Morg support I've given it a few tries but an easy counter that I'm seeing even in gold is that the bot duo is always fighting amidst the minions and my ADC doesn't understand that we can't do all-ins at that point because my snare is blocked and at best, I can tormented soil them. This is why I'm looking at champions like Leona or Alistar with reliable cc's. As for Morg mid, she is still as dominate as I remember her, and strangely it seems people don't know how to deal with her anymore. People are eating snares so easy almost as if they expect I won't be able to land them. I'll have her in my support pool, but I do think she is strong as an AP carry right now.

dont jg as ww, he is too dependant on stacking for sated right now. best to stick with jglers that can early gank or have strong CC, so udy and amu are fine.

morg is really meh mid lane and shouldnt be an option top lane. take her ur as your support instead of taking her top.

i dont know about vlad mid, but there are just better options really.

cait and kog will be broken in season 6 assuming they are not nerfed from there current PBE itterations.

learon BOTH ali and leona. tanky supports are more valuable than paper thin supports like sona unless you main sona. MANDATORY you learn tahm support. he is too good.

most champs you listed arnt bad, just outshined by newer champs. no reason to go malph top when you can go gnar top for example...

Another vouch for Tahm...I'll definitely learn him. WW I'll take out. I've not had success with him but have kept him in the pool because he used to come through for me. Thank you.

My current picks are Top: Mundo, Wukong, Gnar Jungle: Skarner, Diana, Xin Mid: Annie Ahri Lux ADC: Jinx, Vayne, Kalista, Support: Braum, Leona, Blitzcrank, Thresh, Soraka, Tahm.

If that helps, but most champs are viable, ADC is the most stale.

Also, as a Season 2 vet, I know the feels of Nostalgia.

Ha yeah it's tough coming back cause I sort of miss how things were, but at the same time I like the fact I'm coming back to a new game. I think Skarner could replace WW on my list, and Wukong could take Morgs place as top. Thanks.

Garen is decently strong, but tanks are getting rekt next season. Gnar Riven Darius Fiora are currently FOTM for top

I'm a Jungle main, so my JG pool is ridiculously diverse, but champs who clear and gank easily are as follows: Maokai DrMundo MasterYi Aatrox MonkeyKing Gragas RekSai and Trundle

Azir Kassadin TwistedFate Ryze and Talon are good mids

ADC is going to change majorly w/ new updates (check out PBE footage)

Your supp pool is weak, but it's about as good as my ADC pool, so... make of that what you will.

I'll give my 2c.

Mid seems fine. Strong champions, just slightly lacking in mobility.

Top isn't bad. Garen's incredibly underrated right now, Malphite is secret OP. Vlad is... Vlad. lol. I wouldn't suggest Morg, just since they tend to do poorly from what I've seen. Same logic as taking Yasou top, you aren't able to use your kit to it's fullest potential. Lack of blue buffs hurt also.

Jungle, preference, but I really hate Udyr. Weak ganks are just rough. Warwick is fine, just, a lot of reliance on your team not to feed before the 7min mark. Which can be rough.

Support, again, preference but. Sona's just too squishy to survive bot lane right now. Even when she does well, she just feels low impact. I'd suggest one of the other two.

ADC, caitlyn, another secret OP. I love having them on my team, incredibly consistent adc. MF / Kog, less so. You're really relying on your team to protect you, which can be pretty rough in soloq.
