Normal Matchmaking Balance

I'm getting incredibly frustrated with my normal queues lately. I'm all for people learning the game and improving their skills through normal mode. That being said, it is also annoying for me to get bronze players on my team against an all plat/diamond team. I do not mind getting golds on my team because they generally know the basic idea of mechanics and game play. It just feels like too much of a skill gap for me a low diamond elo player to have to lane/play with someone who is unranked/bronze/silver against a team of players who are also diamond/plat. Did normal elo get reset or what's going on here? Again I'm all for them learning but I dont think they will learn much being thrown into a game of signficantly higher elo players, there should be a happy medium here.
