Volibear Needs A Nerf

I was playing in a game last night, and Volibear went straight tank on the other team. At the end of the game, the total damage he dealt was twice as high as leblancs. Please tell me how that is balanced. He goes straight tank, deals second most dmg on team while having a bursty team. That. Is. Just. Plain. OP. Let me know what you think in the comments! Am I just bad and Voli has a massive weakness I'm unaware of or do you agree that his damage or tankiness should be nerfed?

He built Trinity Force. He had Thornmail as well and every member of your team was an autoattacker. That's not exactly straight tanks.

LeBlanc dealts primarily single-target damage while Volibear is mostly AoE damage.
LeBlanc built nothing except for multiple Rod of Ages. No boots, no Rabadon's Deathcap, no Void Staff, etc.
LeBlanc had very low CS, so she was likely behind on damage for most of the game.

There is a very good reason she dealt less damage than the tanky fighter with AoE who built appropriately. We also don't know what role LeBlanc played during the game. Your team didn't have a traditional ADC Support both lane, no one built support items or Sightstone, and both Ahri and LeBlanc have very low CS.

A bit of advice as an aside. Your team had no tank, the enemy team had 3/4 assassins, and you fell behind early. It probably would have been a good idea to build a defensive item before building Blade of the Ruined King, especially considering you got Warrior enchant. You were really squishy and getting an early Randuin's Omen or Locket of the Iron Solari would have greatly helped your team.

Volibear's biggest weakness is being kited because he has no instant gapclosers. That said thats not of much use if your team doesn't know how to do it.

Bear in mind, damage over the course of a game counts ALL damage to champions, a good chunk of Volibear's damage is AoE, in addition to the fact that his W is an execute, thats bound to skew stats in his favor over LeBlanc, who has mostly single target damage.

In a tankie DPS Meta. Voli sits on HP. Singe's volley is annoying but Voli's gap closer and Volley is a great initiator.

Don't see a single Voli without Righteous Glory.

With his passive he doesn't even break a sweat waiting for his team to enter the fight.

I just don't see Riot Balancing team getting a clue about this meta.
After all it took them a full year after 2010 to address Tankie DPS in 2011.

History just repeating itself I guess.

Had the same thing i owned him though all game top as rumble i was 6/1 and he was 1/5 he gets some tank items and he could kill me by tower diving me all of a sudden.I got items that counter him,Liandry's Torment,morelos for his passive and he just steam rolls over you.he 2v1 myself and a lee sin in the jungle he had 1 item just one.I don't know what to do when that happens.Then again our vayne that does great against tanky people like him would some how never be there for team fights or when we tried to defend towers.So it jost boiled down to bad team work i guess.
