If we look at the previous champion releases there's something that can be noticed.

: Jungler : ADC : Mid Lane Mage : Top Lane Fighter-thing : Support : Mid Lane Mage : Mid Lane AD : ADC : ADC : Top Lane Fighter : Mid Lane Mage : Jungler

There seems to be a minor pattern forming now, after the Lucian/Jinx release, where there is at least a whole (slightly varied) team comp released before the next cycle goes over.

Bard is more than likely going to be a Mid Lane AD, or a support.

forgetting, of course, the two straight adcs released prior to yasuo. There is no Garen teed order.

Or a support. Mid lane AD's are generally assassins, and with the teaser was sounding, you don't really get an assassin feel off of it. It sounds like a champion who has watched past events, for a loooooong time. Watching great empires fall and all that sort of stuff.

My guess is a mage-ish support.

As a bard, and the feel of the teaser, he will likely be a support, or at least some sort of protector like a tank. I hope it will be something a little different, like a jungle support
