I don't understand why I play all 10 of my placement games win like 8 and loose 2, do really good in all of them get around S- or S and I still get placed into Bronze 5, is there anything that the game does to decide my rank that I just simply don't know? [zombie-brand-clap]
Ritesh2 votesOr you could get better. I was Plat 2 last season went 6-4 and got Gold 5. I said fuck it now I'm Gold 1 coming back to Plat.

Placements generally initially place you lower than you were before.
EtyrnaI1 votesSimply put, unless you go 10-0 in Placements, you're likely to drop a full 5 Divisions. Assuming you finished Bronze 2 - Silver 5 in Season 6, you're basically just going to land in Bronze 5. 
Dynikus1 votesyou were bronze 4 last season. Riot really should just make an official post explaining how your mmr is affected in a new season, and how placements games work. It's really not that complicated.
Tenth Leper1 votesThat happened to my brother too. He went 6/4 and got bronze 5. I went 3/7 and got silver 3. We were confused.
Also, I only won 8 of my 3v3 placements and got Plat 4 even though I had never done 3v3 ranked before.
Weathered1 votesRegardless of how you do, its a reset. The placements determine how far back you get reset.
