Does Jinx really need to be nerfed right now?

I think the ADC meta is pretty healthy atm, and there's around 10 picks right now that wouldn't be considered weak or troll. You just nerfed cinderhulk, how about seeing what happens how that assassins and bruiser junglers such as Vi are getting played more again.

Her kit is overloaded bull**** and always has been.

Very Hard Engage4 votes

what breaks her is her Q rockets who crit all targets. its a free full base auto attack against all nearby targets. "lets give an adc with up to 5 auto attacks without diminishing returns" even hydra has range effectiveness

(RIP Twitch )

Obviously not, why would the 2nd most picked champion in the game, that is also in the top 5 winrates, need a nerf?

Oh wait.

The minigun nerf is ok, but Rocket Launcher is the broken part, THERE IS NO CHAMP that needs 110% damage 700 range aoe crits with hilariously low mana cost while also being the best turret demolisher, having 2 long range nukes, one being %HP missing, 2 selfpeels, 3 if we count that retarded passive that lets her kite anyone but Master Yi, or clean up the fights, or to dive champs and run away instead of getting killed, or being a lane bully hypercarry with great midgame, and waveclear.

Oh wait, she lacks ANYTHING othed than a dash? and who the fuck needs a dash when you have everything else?

Really, gut her, but oh wait, she will still have her skills, Riven all over again, simply overloaded

I also think she's fine, she's strong, but not overly so.

iainB853 votes

I think she needs a small nerf. Her kit is very overloaded for an ADC.

Zorae423 votes

Yes. Now if me and the adc both have to back mid game, our turret might still be there when we get back to lane.

Maple Crusader2 votes

She's fine. No more nerfs required.

Mandang02 votes

Jinx's win- and pickrate are much higher than they should be. I support the nerf.

Drunk Rummate2 votes

It's a healthy nerf because it's actually a lategame buff and it increases her attack speed with rockets in the midgame. More of a distribution of power than a nerf, although I'd agree it's a net loss in strength for her.

I don't think she needs a nerf because there are plenty of champions that do well against Jinx though. Especially with Ashe becoming relevant with her pick potential and Jinx's inability to dodge that outside of flash or luck.

Yes #GutTheFreeloBankrobber.

Her win and play rate show she is over tuned and snowballs too easily for how well she scales. She 1000% deserves a serious nerf and a not joke ult nerf like last patch.

If by overloaded kit you mean she has 4 functional abilities, then yes it is overloaded. The way I see it, all of her skills are focused on her intended strengths with 1 skill being used to add a bit of variance. She is intended to be a hyper carry that will wreck your team from distance and that is accomplished through rockets, a long range high damage slow (keep in mind it is a skillshot with a fairly long cast time), and an execute skillshot ult that requires travel time for maximum damage. However, she has one of the lowest attack speeds in the game which can be increased by sacrificing range and the aoe from her rockets, adding some diversity to her play. However, her clear weakness is if you get on top of her. she has no escapes and will require peeling from the team if the enemy Frontline gets on top of her. Her chompers take far too long to arm for them to be any use if you already smacking her in the face.

While this is certainly a reasonable shift in power to scale her down a bit on the early game, it's ludicrous to say she has an overloaded kit. Her kit is designed precisely to aid her in doing what she is designed to do: keeping targets at range to do massive damage, and offers no safety nets if she fails to do so.

Since I am a Trist main, I ALWAYS compare them, so here you go: Tristana's kit: -Scaling Range increase (Passive) (which currently MAXES at LESS than Jinx's max level Q) -Attack Speed Steroid (Q) -Escape Dash (plus slow IF you attack with it) (W) -AOE damage (formerly DoT) (E) -Burst Damage/knockback (R)

Jinx's Kit: -Dash (Passive) -Attack Speed Steroid (Q-Default) -Range Boost (Q-Toggle) -AOE Damage (Q-Toggle) -Slow (at 1500 RANGE!) (W) -Wall/Root (E) -Burst Damage (Global Range) (R)

Oh, and as a bonus, most of Jinx's abilties scale off of AD, only 1 of Tristana's does. So if you build as an AAing ADC should, your abilities get stronger and stronger. So, Jinx gets basically HALF of Tristana's ENTIRE kit in her "Q". And for the rest, Tristana gets more peel in exchange for SIGNIFICANTLY less, damage, range and utility. Plus ALL of Tristana's safety assumes she's alone (jump is EASILY counterable as an escape and only benefits Trist, and at low elo, her knockback screws up your own team about as often as it helps Trist ESPECIALLY in teamfights), whereas Jinx's peel benefits her team (but granted is less "reliable" for her specifically). I can't see any way to put it in her kit, but I honestly WISH Tristana had a skillshot, heck, I'd trade ults with Jinx in a HEARTBEAT (Granted, Ashe's would be even better). XD

Her passive is not a dash, it is a decaying movement speed buff that is dependent on killing an enemy first (part of her intended clean up design)

The attack speed steroid puts her at 525 range while requiring 1 stack to be on par with the base attack speed of other adcs. Trist doesnt have to sacrifice her safety for attack speed.

Rockets require mana, something not sustainable very long during laning phase and are not affected by her attack speed steroid putting her at one of the lowest attack speeds in the game.

the slow is a long cast time skill shot with a fairly narrow hit box. if you get hit by it, you deserve to be punished.

burst damage was lowered at close range. This is better described as an execute.

It's easy to make things seem super OP when you only list their strengths. Im not denying Jinx is a strong adc, i've loved playing her since she was released and the incoming nerf to shift her power to late game is warranted. However, as i said in my first post, her kit plays to very specific strengths: unsafe late game hyper carry. Her W and E wont help her much at all once the enemy tanks are already smacking her in the face. And since you want to bring up trist, dont you think it is fair for jinx to have more offensive capabilities than tristana? Trist has 2 methods of putting serious distance between herself and the enemy via her rocket jump and ult.

Finally, different champions are different, one champion might have a stronger attack speed steroid, but you have to look at the costs, not just the result.

While good for against other champs in a 1-on-1, "as" is BEST for taking objectives, (turrets, inhibs, dragon/baron), because how often do ADCs GET a 1-on-1? Definitely in midgame (and probably even late, but not 100% on "full build" (depending on what your full build is)) Tristana's Q will run out before you can take any objective from 100->0. Jinx's isn't an active (per se) so she can tear objectives faster. And in the UNUSUAL scenario where they meet 1-on-1, it's one of two things, either SOMEONE is out of position and SHOULD be punished, or someone is farming alone, and if there's minions, Jinx can ramp up on them before engaging. And Jinx doesn't have to sacrifice safety to HIT Tristana at all, since Rockets shoot farther...

Rockets require mana, something not sustainable very long during laning phase and are not affected by her attack speed steroid putting her at one of the lowest attack speeds in the game.

Rockets take 20 mana, Jinx gains 45 mana (or 2 rockets) per level. By Level 6, you can throw out 15 rockets while still having mana for your ult and other abilities. By level 13 she has mana equal to Tristana's MAX. Yes, Trist doesn't use mana on Q anymore (new feature, not part of her kit preRework), but her Explosive Charge is more expensive than Zap on ALL but the last rank (the "help" being EC is also on MUCH longer cooldown) and the other abilities are equal on mana use with shorter cooldown on Jinx's ult. In a 1-on-1 Trist can jump to Jinx, yes, but if it's NOT a 1-on-1, Trist has probably overextended and completely nullified her "safety". If you DON'T jump to Jinx, then she can hit you from longer range with rockets and kite with Zap and Chompers. (Speed is equal, and in a push scenario (which is Tristana's ONE strength now) Jinx can "hit and run" while trying to split push, whereas Tristana can only strike and jump. To put that in perspective, if both are pushing and both have Udyrs "bear"ing down on them, Jinx can kill a structure and outrun Udyr, Tristana can kill a structure and jump away, but then Udyr can make up that ground because he is MUCH faster)

the slow is a long cast time skill shot with a fairly narrow hit box. if you get hit by it, you deserve to be punished.

It also goes for 1500 units, which is more than double the farthest Tristana can shoot ANYTHING and only on a 6 second cooldown.

burst damage was lowered at close range. This is better described as an execute.

Whatever, I'd still trade ults in a heartbeat.

Finally, different champions are different, one champion might have a stronger attack speed steroid, but you have to look at the costs, not just the result.

In S4 Tristana was a late-game hypercarry and was ALWAYS the "late game long range hitter" (due to her passive), now she is NEITHER, since Jinx has supplanted her in BOTH and we're just supposed to say "oh ok, Tristana was always MEANT to be some sort of weird aa-@-ability stacker"?

There are more champions in the game than trist and jinx. Simply comparing the 2 champions as if they were in a 1v1 is absolutely pointless. Since you chose to ignore the part at the end where i explained the difference between the 2 designs, ill do so again. Jinx is an unsafe hyper carry. Trist has an escape (that resets on kill or assists, mind you) and a way of knocking people back to create distance. Trist still does a lot of damage, but it makes sense that she has less potential than jinx given her defenses, of which jinx has none.

THERE ARE NO OTHER ADCs!!!! (jk) I main Tristana, so I know her better than any other and don't want to make false judgements re: other ADCs. I also use Tristana as MY baseline because she's a classic champion that CLEARLY had parts of her kit supplanted by Jinx. (which I have ALWAYS hated)

High winrate with high pick rate doesnt tell you that it needs a nerf? Jinx main or bronze?

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Jinx is easy and, if fed, snowballs hard. But, if you can shut her down, she becomes almost useless mid-late game.

Brotha1 votes

Thank God Ekko will soon be live to put an end to the blue haired bitch.

denzel777x1 votes

I think she's fine, and they should wait at least another patch or so and see how the cinderhulk changes effect her, due to more assassins getting picked.

FantasySniper1 votes

As that guy who fell in love with Jinx from her release and made her my main ADC, I hereby give my full consent to these much needed nerfs.

Also, to all those people complaining about her rockets, Pow-Pow is where most of her DPS comes from. Her rockets are really only useful for pushing, getting that last hit in the chase, and contesting dragon/baron.

Sir Yamazuki1 votes

"vi being played more again", She was still 2nd/3rd most played jungler this entire time while abusing Cinder sometimes herself, with Lee being first.

Nimba1 votes

I main Jinx and it's pretty obvious shes a little much right now. She outkits a LOT of the ADCs and its not unreasonable to hand her nerfs.

They're a bit, and maybe Id prefer we ease up after the minigun nerfs but she's not fine, she's too strong. I just don't want her to get nerfed so hard she becomes unviable but with that kit, I doubt that's possible.

Nucleophilic atk1 votes

I put yes, but in a different way. The ult nerf won't really do anything to her, in my opinion. She is really strong because she has a super late game with a non-weak early game. Not to mention her ult is only weak in melee range.
