Why the hell do we have to lock in to avoid queue dodging

Why the fuck do we have to lock in to avoid queue dodging? Sometimes I'll forget and I end up not being able to play for 5-30 mins simply because I forget to click a button. It's so freaking dumb.

Sometimes I'll forget

It's so you don't do that. Requiring a lock in makes sure players stay involved in champion select, as well as speeding up TTG.

It's been this way for 2 years now. You have no excuse anymore to forget.

How do you forget to pick a champion?

People have been complaining about this since they reworked how the system worked 2 years ago. Get over it. Riot hasn't changed it in 2 years with probably literal millions of complaints, it probably won't get changed from one more.

This points out a broader problem: Champ select is part of the game. It's not for texting, getting food, or going to the bathroom. Sometimes it amazes me how many folks don't accept the queue, forget to select a champion, change rune pages/summoners, etc. Why is everyone so distracted?

Just lock it in you lazy pos

It’s a good feature that prevents bad games from starting where someone walks away and:

  • Takes wrong runes
  • Doesn’t take smite
  • Is late to the game
