Shaco Nerf Rant

Alright so I'm not the highest ranked player (Gold) nor do I have all the numbers for Shaco's damage but I do main him and think I at least know the gist of playing him. So here's my rant/ 2 cents about the nerf.

1. He needs an ACTIVE ITEM to 1 shot Okay so first off to even 100 to 0 someone from invisibility shaco needs to be pretty fed. So first off saying being able to one shot is a reason for nerf is silly because every fed assassin, and even non assassins can one shot people. Second of all even if shaco is decently fed he needs to proc some kind of hextech active item (or ignite) to 100 to 0 someone, he literally needs an EXTRA ability to 100 to 0 while being decently fed. Most other fed assassin champions can one shot just using their normal abilities without having to remember to proc an item or summoner. On top of that the one shot builds for shaco REQUIRES you to go FULL DAMAGE, ie. you're super squishy.

2. Shaco has no easy escape after assassination Even if shaco is fed enough to 100 - 0 someone from invisibility he doesn't have an easy/reliable escape. The ways shaco escape is hallucinate or setting up an escape route with boxes. Compared to other assassins hallucinate is on a much longer cool down and is not even a real escape (unreliable). Setting up for boxes for an escape route is also not practical. So if the enemy team is at the very least in the same general area once you go in to kill someone you're most likely dead (unless you have hallucinate).

ex. if I go in to assassinate the jhin who's ~3 - 4 teemos away from his team, sniping at people i'll probably die unless i have hallucinate to distract a bit. If you compare that scenario with other assassins like kha zix, talon, le blanc, zed, akali, ekko, etc. they all have escapes or resets upon killing so they can escape. Alternatively champions like rengar can build a little tankier to absorb some damage. Champions like fizz and katarina can zhonyas to wait on their escape ability to go off CD (note- as I mentioned full burst shaco wouldn't build zhonyas).

So once the enemy team starts grouping and it gets to mid-late game bursting someone from invisibility also means your death (especially if they have multiple hard CCs). You can't even really out play b/c your only means of escaping is literally hallucinate and walking away.

3. Riot MADE him a 100 - 0 from deceive champion The reasoning for the nerf is because shaco one shots people straight out of invisibility. Well maybe if that wasn't the most optimal way of playing him due to all the changes Riot made people would diverge to other play styles. The rework puts a vast majority of shaco's damage on his Q, specifically backstabbing while invisible. Shaco's boxes and ult has never really been a primary form of damage for shaco; now his boxes also doesn't even stack. The only other ability that used to do damage is his E (shiv), and it USED to be able to be used for poke. Now his shiv does next to nothing for poking. So now his combo is to Q backstab proc, auto (not always necessary), shiv, proc a hextech/ ignite. Once shaco does that combo he's left to pretty much 0 damage, so if his target doesn't die and kites away there's nothing you can do as shaco to get that kill. (again other assassins have ways around like some kind of cc (harder than shiv) ability, 1 or 2 abilities with considerable range and damage, or an almost fool proof and low cd escape so they can have a 2nd and 3rd attempt at assassination).

TLDR: At the current state Shaco would be useless if he is unable to 100 - 0 someone from deceive. He needs to either have his damage moved from a vast majority on his Q or he needs a more reliable escape. Simply nerfing him so he can't 100 - 0 from deceive will just add Shaco to Riot's ever growing list of unplayable champs.
