Can you interrupt Yasuo's ult or?

I was playing as Lulu and the enemy Yasuo ulted one of my teammates. I tried using W to cc him, and when I clicked on him it just denied me as if I didn't click on any valid target??? Ability didn't go on cool down or anything. I don't play Yasuo, so I wouldn't know if he gets some immunity to CC while he's ulting or something. Yas usually gets banned, so I haven't played against one to test it again, but I'm just wondering if this was a bug or something, or this happens all the time? I know you can interrupt similar ults like Darius 's if you hard CC them before they're done channeling the spell...

No, under no circumstances can you stop his damage other than killing him before his ult slams down

Hard CC usually works, I've seen his ult being cancelled many times in the past. Don't know about Lulu, I rarely pick her (too annoying sounds...)
