Why exactly did Riot remove ReRolling champion shards?

Exactly what the title says. Being able to reroll 3 shards that you didn't want was an awesome part of the game that I loved to use. I understand that it was removed because people who had all the champs would just reroll 3 to get a new champ guaranteed, but if someone has all the champions then they would have racked up enough BE to buy that new champ anyway just from playing games, since there's nothing else to spend it on.

Because you get boatloads of them from the Level Capsules.

It was honestly just because nowadays you get champion shards from the level up capsules, so people who own all of the champions could just reroll 3 champ shards and get the new champion for free

Because people like me would reroll all the nunus and ashes. In the hopes of getting 6300 chanps like liss.
If you saw how many champ shards I have you would understand.

might actually give a reason for 450 champions to pop out of champion capsules at level 100+, and riot can't have that, your experience needs to be as grindy as possible so you have to buy champions you want with rp

It was too cost effective for players.

Imagine rerolling 3 90 BE (or 450 BE champs) shards and potentially unlock a 6300 BE champion.

But that was when you rarely could get your hands on a champ shards from boxes but instead buy ones from the store that used to cost like 1350 IP at the time? So even then, spending 3 x 1350 = 4050, still a good chance of netting a 4800+ BE cost champion. That still let you save a lot.

because you get so, so many champion shards these days that rerolling them would give you all of the champions in no time at all. No doubt, if I look at all the shards i've accumulated so far, they'd be enough to reroll into the entire roster, maybe even twice over.
