Azir Soldier and Teemo Shroom Interaction
I just finished playing a game as Azir and I found a strange interaction with Azir and Teemo shrooms. Azir soldiers, when auto attacking, deal no damage to the traps. I would understand if this was intended because the soldier auto attacks are counted as spell casts (or something like it) instead of auto attacks, for example: you can auto attack with soldiers through Teemo blind or you can auto attack pantheon through his passive. Because of the interaction with other champions abilities, the fact that Azir soldiers do not deal damage to traps is something that is understandable. (The rest of this is really just an explanation as to why I have a problem with this) However, I feel like something needs to be done about because near the middle of the game I used a trinket to try to clear Teemo shrooms before heading into a fight and I found one that was right under one of my soldiers. I did not want to move the soldier because the position it was in was blocking movement from the enemy team. Because of that, I could not deal any damage to the trap and my trinket ended up timing out. The fact that soldiers can not clear shrooms is something that I am ok with, but I feel like something does need to be done about Azir's inability to deal damage to a shroom AT ALL while a soldier is on top of it.
I decided to post this to the forums because I am curious about what the community has to say and hopefully, if this gathers enough attention, it will eventually be shown to someone at Riot. So if any Riot employees are reading through this and need an idea of a way to fix this, here ya go: When Azir is in his standard auto-attacking range (525) and is attacking a Teemo shroom while a soldier is also on top of it then have his standard basic attack favor. However, when Azir is out of his standard auto-attacking range but wants to attack a shroom then let Azir attack with his soldier. (The only reason that I am adding that last sentence in is because there are very rare situations where Azir could attack a trap and damage someone behind it. I do not want to take that advantage, despite how small, away from Azir)
NOTE: I have not tested this with other traps like Shaco boxes (I think Azir soldiers can damage them, but I am not sure). So there might be another weird interaction with soldiers and traps that I just have not seen yet. Just a heads up.~
