Maybe It's Not DQ

Ever since the "Round"table discussion, there has been a lot of hate towards Riot, a lot of uncalled for hate towards them. I'm assuming that once they stated that solo queue was never coming most people, not all, paused the video and raged at the boards screaming at Riot for making such a "terrible" decision, how could they? Well for one they are a company and usually their final word is that: final.

"But they aren't listening to the community!"

Sure they are, I've seen posts saying how X champion needs this, and Y champion should not be building these items. They listen and they're probably listening to the outcry of this fallout. However if Riot solely just listened to the community for buffs/nerfs or any other game related issues Assassins would be erased from the game, hell Zed would be so mega nerfed that ever time he ults he gives health to his enemy before dealing damage.

Riot is owned by Tencent, which I hate to say it, likes to make money, but hell who doesn't. You guys act like Riot should be pleasing everyone when in the end they need to make money, no money means no new skins, no new champions, those reworks they sweat over? Yeah forgot about that wasn't in the budget. What about the Rioters? They need money to support themselves, cause they do have families. They aren't just some machine programmed for perfection they make mistakes, everyone makes mistakes, they're only human.

Should this whole SQ fiasco have been handled differently? Most defiantly. Should you guys start a witch hunt over one mode? Hell no.

Hell, these men and women, who slave to make this game perfect, the very last thing they want is their fans to hate them and by god they are going to do everything to make Dynamic Queue work, I hope it does get fixed, because I like DQ. I like the idea of being able to play ranked with my friends but I also like to play solo ranked and guess what I can do that too, by not inviting any friends. I don't care if I go against a premade, or if I'm with a premade in the end all I care about is winning my games and half the time I do. Do I get teammates that troll? Sure, but there is a report button for that. Do I sulk about that loss? No. I move on to the next game, because I love this game, I've sunk about 3 grand into this game and I don't regret it, and I'll spend more regardless of Riot's decision on SQ.

So, maybe it's not DQ, maybe it's you.

P.S. Any Rioter that reads this, know that you guys do a fantastic job on this game, keep up the good work.

No, it is DQ. The simple fact that everyone who plays Ranked and has no friends to Party with, or just wants to Solo, has had to deal with going against 5-man premades and ultimately ends up losing because it's "who the fuck are you guys, I'll do what I want" versus "we all know each other, let's teamwork to victory!". Guess who ends up winning? Oh right, remember that you have to be able to main 2 roles in Ranked now. Want to Top? Nah, you have to put in another role that you'll most likely end up feeding in because you're inexperienced at it, then end up getting reported by your team because they wouldn't let you be able to play the role you're actually good at. Remember the good ol' days of Solo Queue when everyone was on equal footing, and you rarely had to go against 5-man premades? Remember when you could pick a role and you got to do it, and everyone played either good or bad and it was okay? It's like Riot just threw that out the window just so they could half-assedly force their player base to focus solely on teamwork, when in fact it really doesn't. Especially when you halve the amount of Exp it takes to get to Level 30, so you have those that have barely done Normals getting to do Ranked with not much experience with the Champs they have to buy to access Ranked. I know that was a rant, but it's just annoying.

3+ Pre Mage Groups (Dynamics) win 53% of the time. So no, Solo Players do not 'always lose'.

Even if they used perfect Vodoo matchmaking for it to always be 50% between X premades and solo, it doesn't change anything as far as the value of the ranking. It'll be just as ambiguous as now since you won't know if that ranking is for 5s, solo, 4s etc. and they're different skills.

There has NEVER been a Pure Solo... Duo was ALWAYS part of the Queue Experience.

So was the Rankings not as Ambiguous before? Since you had 2's intermixed with Solos?

But no one mentions that... it's only NOW that it becomes a Problem... even though this has ALWAYS been the case.

good old days of picking a role? you mean the good old days of people bitching about what role they wanted and then some douche going "lol first pick!" then feeding their ass off and then flaming would begin since the douche did poorly on the role he "stole" from others?

I love how everyone seem so easy and eager to defend SoloQ and bash DQ like SoloQ is this epitome of greatest and that there was nothing wrong with it... guess what? IT HAD EVEN MORE ISSUES THAN DQ HAS NOW!

Not going against your argument, but I'm just saying "Bronzies" is starting to be less hurtful. Due to the way Riot's fucking up everything and having us going on teams that feed versus 5-man Premades (especially since they halved the Experience you need to get to level 30), it's less about skill and more about getting really lucky. Also because you're very unlikely to get the role you want. Even if you choose 2 and only main 1, you're no longer guaranteed to get either of those and will most likely be a forced Support that'll end up getting reported by his team. A lot of us that should be at least early Gold or at least mid/high Silver are forced into Bronze because of DQ and it's so annoying to just lose because of having to go against full Skype teams.

It's DQ, stop the BS. It has devalued ranked and made direct comparisons between players nonsense because one might only play 5s and the other solo. Playing with friends is fine, but the integrity of the ranked system needs to come first.

DQ is a cash grab and you're blind if you don't see it. The whole point is to get more players to commit to ranked, which tends to result in higher profits from those players. They thought that doing this while screwing up the fundamentals of a valid ranking system would be the most profitable and it's true but only in the short term. The hardcore fans who popularized the game and put in most of the hours for ranked lost trust and respect.

BTW: Outside of making ranked meaningless by destroying its predictive value for either 5s or solo, the queue times would definitely be shorter without premades. Premades make the system attempt to find similar configurations and that takes a lot longer. I hope everyone who supported DQ gets fired at Riot and never finds a job in another gaming company again. What a terrible way to ruin a game whose competitive scene was thriving. Now outside of LCS, ranked has lost all its "prestige" and for good reason. It also fucked streamers but that's something else.

its not DQ its the people getting carried by their dynamic buddies that want to keep this system

Except it is DQ.

It's not a witch hunt over one game mode. It's because they removed ranked teams and solo queue to make DQ. If they had added it in as an additional game mode, which is what should have happened if they were dead set on implementing this, nobody would care.

It's not the game mode, its being forced into DQ because its the only game mode that's the issue here.
