I Know We've Talked About This But.......

I reaaaaaaaly think we need some sort of progress-indicator on honor lvl. I know rioters have given explanations on why there is none, saying that the purpose of the system is to reward honorable players, and if you're playing like a decent person, you'll be climbing a little every game, BUT if there was any intention for the honor system to ENTICE players that may be less honorable to act more honorably, then the lack of any sort of progress-indicator, works against the system in a big way.

Some real concerns I have about the long-term use of the honor system without a progress-indicator include sceneries like:

-"I've been sportsmanlike for weeks, and haven't gained a level, so I'm not going to honor people in the post-game anymore because its clearly not doing anything for anyone"

-"Oh! i gained a level, i forgot this whole system even existed"

Or the worst case scenario:

-"I haven't seen any real progress in my honor level, so I'm just going to go back to not giving a f*ck and being toxic"

(these are situations that would probably come further down the line, months or even seasons into the new honor systems's life span)

Having a progress-indicator, even an incredibly vague one, would do wonders to prevent these situations, we can see how effective such "exp bars" can be in another system in league, the mastery system.

The mastery system encourages players to main champs for a time and really get to know the nitty gritty of each one, and the rewards (for mastery, the icons, for honor, the end-of-year rewards) take it a step further and encourages players to interact with the system for longer.

My final thoughts are that for a system intended to encourage players to act more honorably to succeed, then a progress-indicator is essential. Without it, it can lead to disillusionment with the system, a lack of interaction from the players, and a total disregard of the system, even opting to go against it.
