Since he no longer has a knock-up, why not make it so he passes through enemy champions with it? That way he can still get behind them to ultimate them in the direction he wants. I'd be just as happy as if I had the knock-up. Thank you.

Yes please, and gut his Q damage but increase the scaling on his W
He is still good. Now he is finally weak against hard engage while retaining his strengths. Actually, I am pretty sure he will get a new nerf soon.
I agree with the suggestion, it's nigh- impossible to to pull off a full combo on anyone. This nerf feels like taking the silence off of Malzahar's void gates, its his only regular means to make sure any person with a reaction faster than a potato doesn't any multitude of dashes,disrupting cc, or flash while he's setting up nether zone for ult.
