League just doesn't feel as fun anymore.

The retiring of Dominion just feels like another nail in the coffin. I feel that over time, Riot has been focused on only LCS and ranked rather than keeping the original spirit and fun of the game. I started playing League of Legends in Season Two, and while there were still trolls and jerks, the game itself was far more positive and enjoyable- it was the most fun game I had played in ages. And every game mode had its own appeal- both Dominion and ARAM (before Howling Abyss and the official queues) were great. Hide and Seek, Catch the Teemo, and other game modes were all brilliant.

But now I just feel like the game has lost a lot of that spark. It's become more competitive and rather than trying to keep up the fun, it seems like Riot is just fueling the competition. I feel like I don't enjoy League as much anymore, and rather than it seeming like a game I enjoy playing with friends, it just seems like something I'm doing to pass the time while I chat with people. And I guess my issue with it is because I feel like it's not too hard to work with.

It can't be THAT hard to rotate Featured Game Modes in and out, or at least keep them in the Custom Game Mode. Same with Dominion- saying that you have to remove it from Customs because it "takes up as much room as having a queue for it" is silly- Proving Grounds existed for years and there was no queue for it, same with Winter Summoner's Rift (although since that was basically just a map skin, I have no idea how it fits in the equation). I mean, you made Butcher's Bridge for the Bilgewater Event, and got rid of it afterwards with no return- can you really call CRYSTAL SCAR a waste? At this point, it just doesn't seem to make sense.

I don't know, Riot. I'm really trying to keep enjoying League, I really am, but I'm slowly falling out of love with this game after years of play.

Granted, this is my opinion. I'm sure many players love the way the game is going. But as a player who vastly prefers casual and fun gameplay over the quest to increase ranked, this how I see it.

Dota 2 and Valve are light years ahead of League and Riot. Their client is a million times better. All the stuff people wish league had, Dota has had for 4 years now. It amazes me how inferior Riot is too them. Riot makes excuse after excuse as to why they cant add this or that into the game, yet dota has offered these things to their playerbase for years now. This is a large part of the reason why im way more into dota lately...ever since s6 preseason started. Riot just seems so utterly lost and clueless as to how to run/balance their own game anymore. Lately it seems like theyre trying so hard to make league more like Smite and HotS, yet they were so far ahead of them in playerbase. Why copy the competition that cant even compete with you?! Idk...they seem like theyve created a vision for the game for the future and dont give two shits what the actual playerbase thinks of it. "We're doing it and theres nothing you guys can say that will change our mind...even if you all hate it." Have fun with that Riot, cuz your playerbase will slowly start to decline until your behind the other games. And then theyll sit there wondering where they went wrong. While all of us have been telling them for 2 months now where theyre going wrong.

The game feels messy and often I find myself hating the experiences I have playing it more then I'm enjoying myself. A good example is one of my favorite champions, Mundo ,being constantly banned because changes to the game have made him overpowered. I find myself playing champions that are in power rather then champions I enjoy, because losing in this game almost never feels fun, so playing Urgot or Gragas just never seems to be an option and I love those fat bastards. League has a serious problem with its age, I mean Mordekaiser didn't even get a visual update with his rework, he still gots triangle feet. Riot just seems content with leaving things as old and stale, unless what they leave in the attic suddenyl becomes overpowered and they need to purposely make it broken so no one plays it like old Poppy or Yorick. Its just sloppy.
