Why I chose Teemo Supp for gold climb and you should too.

I've been ranked for a couple of years, usually playing support. I like playing support, and I feel like with a decent team you can make a huge difference. Unfortunately, there are often times where you just can't do anything as a support cuz the team doesn't know how to follow up. Eventually I got frustrated and decided I was going to have fun in ranked, and so I began choosing teemo as support, and here is why it is a good choice. (Disclaimer-this is with the intent of reaching gold, don't care so much about higher.)

  1. Blind is op against many adcs and better against certain tops.

  2. Stealth is awesome, and u own the brush in lane. Yes they can counter with pinks, but only the best silver/low gold supports will bother. This means they will rarely know exactly where you are.

  3. You have great poke advantage in one against most opponents, and can outtrade most adcs alone.

  4. Shrooms. Shrooms provide lane coverage, can function as vision/protection, and if placed correctly can decide a Especially if u build...

  5. Rylai's crystal scepter. This item is bomb. Yes I know shrooms already slow, but with this u incapacitate their entire team. My full build usually looks like this: frost queen, liandry's, Rylais, void staff, rabadons, and sorcerers shoes. With this a single shroom can badly hurt the entire enemy team.

  6. Usually with a well played teemo you can get fed and carry well, but what is even better is that even if your whole team blows it you can still carry. Teemo can protect nexus towers alone against 5. As teemo you are able to prolong the game if your team sucks, and hold on until that one teamfigh you win and allows you to rush their nexus.

7.stealth late game. If you are fed, you can literally just stand somewhere u think a primary target will go and blow them up in a second, and likely get away afterwords. This is really fun and rewarding.

  1. Nobody expects you to do well, and if you win lane the enemy team will rage their own bit lane for losing to teemo Supp.

But but but...where is your sight stone? Sights tone is great, but you don't really need it with good shroom coverage and trinket. Let the rage begin.

As a side note, should you choose to do this, you will be flamed automatically from the start of the game, and anything that goes wrong for anyone on your team is your fault cuz teemo, so u need thick skin.

I like how you mention the tilt factor. Tilting the enemy is worth its weight in gold.

As a plat sup main, I do not consider teemo sup to be inherently trolling (contrast with something like yi support). The shroom map control is definitely a thing, and blinds are annoying. More conventional supports are probably better but in the right comps teemo sup can be viable I suppose.

I do feel a legit sightstone should be a thing however. On demand vision with a useful radius is super useful, while shrooms/trinket are in limited quantities. Sometimes the situation calls for dropping 3 wards around baron/drag, securing it, backing, and then hustling to secure vision around drag (or vision along the flanks as one pushes up a lane or whateveR), without a period of down time for your trinket/ult to recharge.

Why? Only thing - outside stats, that is - that Rylai's gives you is a single target slow on Q, as slows no longer stack - at all.

No, you don't. They either outrange you, or can easily all in you due to your abysmal range.

Only thing Teemo support can do is hope to scale - he does indeed scale better than most supports with a shroom build.

Now, maybe in silver and low gold players will fail to abuse your weaknesses, and let the game drag but that quickly ends as your rise.

How can you afford that build as a support? Those items add up to 16,150g. I just looked through my last 100 or so games and I usually don't break 12,000g.
