How to keep positive attitude ?

Sex ba bob··4 votes·1,177 views

well i have recently got back into playing league more often and i still cant escape the unskilled/troll teammates with childish ranting ,trolling ,pointless racist remarks also the blame game. i admit i have done my fair share of ranting after been bashed with trolls endlessly and feel like playing less and less. I am wondering if anyone else has similar problems and how does one keep them self from not having a negative attitude after constant B.S from some teammates. it feels like a uphill battle to try and not want to rant or just quit in middle of games sometimes and i am finding myself starting to want to play less and less. What happen to playing a simple game to have fun and being competitive at same time but still be mature enough to make it fun for all ?

Being on mic with a friend helps, as well as limiting how many PvP games you play a day.

its only a game, you know more than they do, and just by consistently doing the things they dont do, you will rise above them and get to play even better games. ones that dont have them in particular.

There's a neat little function called the "mute button" which disables you to see any of their messages. Use it whenever someone spergs out.

As for actual trolls and the likes, just terrible luck. If someone is legit feeding or afks and my team refuses to ff, then just type that your refuses to ff in all chat then leave. No reason for you to stick around.

But all in all, you just trug through it and hope for the best. You have utilities to disable their toxicness so take advantage of that.

i agree i do have terrible luck but i also dont feel its right to quit in middle of game to put down a fellow teammate who is not part of the problem i do mute people who constantly rant and flame over petty things if i cant ask them to relax with it

Me personally, I see no problem leaving a game if you already have an afk especially if you're so far behind. There's no reason to make yourself suffer any longer. Just leave, do something to relax yourself for 30min or so and try and try again.

Also for some reason, Normals has the saltiest people in the game. More so than ranked for some reason.

Firstly, forget about playing ranked altogether. You'll experience a more positive environment in normals, where winning means less and having fun means more.

Secondly, get used to muting your entire team and the entire enemy team every single game. I do this now, and it's incredible how less irritable I am after games. I don't wait for them to start being toxic, I take the initiative and mute them all immediately. That way I never see a single negative remark in the chat, and I can concentrate on my gameplay.

Thirdly, play only champions you enjoy playing. Ignore what the team "needs", ignore people who tell you to play certain things, and ignore everything people say about X champion being bad/useless. By playing only champions you like, there's less risk around stressing out over playing something you're uncomfortable with.

Lastly, listen to some chill music as you play. This may seem incredibly cliche, if not downright useless, but you'd be surprised at the effect music has on the human brain. Pop on some tunes you love, and all the negativity will be replaced by positive thoughts, and it will create a relaxing atmosphere perfect for enjoying the game.

i do that but sometimes, but i like to try stay on same page as my team and ask them if they need help or would need help and try to keep them with a positive attitude if they're feel like crap because they're doing bad i feel like playing a game just for myself is not the best way of being a team player i feel like you should be able to play a game without having to mute everyone its not much to ask for but it kind of is

The best thing you can do is use the mute button and hope to get good teammates. I think this is a proponent of low elo, at least I think its worse in low elo, its certainly everywhere.

I also think the ranking system is a little screwed up at the moment, so players aren't where they should be in the ladder. I go into depth about this in another post I'm trying to get traction on. Its about reforming the system a bit in order to make performance count towards lp modifiers at the end of the game. The general idea to improve the accuracy of the ladder and give good players an out when their team feeds like crazy, but you still go 1/1/10 or something dumb. As a support main I run into this quite a bit.

We could use your input: Improving the ranked ladder system

i got two account i play on average elo the thing is i kinda have bad luck with immature teammates that just ruin it for most of the team and i always try to hype my team to thinking we can do something instead of ranting and doing nothing

KazaJhodo1 votes

Yeah, I think a players attitude actually will correlate with their skill level.

So lower elo is plauged with this, although I still feel as though the skill levels in individual games are wildly rampant. Plus the safety nets that stop people from falling out of divisions really screw up the game. You end up with a pile of people in say silver 5, that belong in bronze 5.

Ultimately I think a lot of the problems that we're running into lately are because we're being matched poorly with other players.

I'm trying to get some traction on a post I'm doing about it and what I think riot can do to fix it. I'd appreciate it if you threw in your opinion.

It's all mental

If you are tilting or are going down the angry path and can't return, leave, do something else relaxing

Sex ba bob1 votes

i normally do that and hope for its better next time around but sometimes its one good team who all have same mind set trying to keep positive regardless of how we do or its worse and its two people ranting and cursing the team and all chat

I like to think as analytically and as non-personally as possible. Even if something goes horrible, don't worry about what people say about it. If you really want to get better, you should really try to think a lot about what really happened and what really should be done in order to make it correct so you can do it a better way in the future. You shouldn't even listen to them as they let their emotions take over too easily and likely blame the wrong thing, and if you do listen to them, it will prevent you from learning what the real problem was and prevent you from advancing your play. As long as you always take the understand it all approach you shouldn't get too negative.

i feel like the i get matched with bad or unskilled player to try and bring them positive vibes and to show them no matter how bad it get you can still win by relaxing and just having fun and staying positive regardless of losing or winning

how do you keep positive if you get back to back teammates who cause pointless ranting and flame or just unskilled team that throw and feed then get mad because you ask them to play safer and stop throwing it sucks when you make one simple request for little bit better team work and they get all worked up and start to flame at you like it was your fault they kept messing up

KazaJhodo1 votes

Just mute everyone.

Admit your mistakes and don't fight your team. Try to avoid spreading the fire.

Sex ba bob1 votes

i do admit my mistake and even apologies if i am out of line my problem is how other constantly kills your game vibe and make you not want to play and make you lose your positive attitude but you still try to see some what hope for next team but then there is that one person that just ruins it

Welcome to life. Where hope can be crushed easily and all you can do is move forward.

See, I just pick characters who are fun to play even if you die on them. I'll give an example: about a week ago I played a bard game in which I had 3 deaths in the first 8mins and was caught out trying to gather charms in the enemy jg by both their mid-laner and the enemy support. One well-timed ulti later, and we were up 2 kills and 2 towers despite having a huge level disadvantage across the board.

If I am in a good mood i will just talk positive no matter what they say, if i am not in a good mood I will listen to music and ignore any comment that isnt positive. I will say Gj and Ty to anyone who does anything good, regardless of how toxic they are. If someone is being toxic to you don't say anything or say something like "oops" or "mb im sorry" when you make a mistake. Most of the time the other non-toxic people will stick up for you if you show you are aware you are making mistakes.

Once played a game where this Jinx spent the first 23 minutes of the game bashing me non-stop because I didn't back with her at level 2 and we lost a bit of pressure because i didn't have pots anymore... I said "Lol" to everything she said, then during a teamfight she healed me right before i died and i was able to escape so I said "Gj Jinx and ty for saving me, nice heal" they responded with "Np bro, anytime" and the toxicity stopped for the rest of the game :D

Basically just ignore negative comments, if you can't /mute all

The only answer that will ensure you don't lose your account is this:

Any time you are being hardcore trolled, just accept the fact that you lost your game due to one player and mute them. There isn't anything you can do about it in game. If they for some reason decided to queue up just to ruin the experience for the 4 people unfortunate enough to get put on a team with them, there is nothing you can do about it. These games will happen, more often than some will admit, but you just need to accept that fact when you play League and hope that it balances out eventually.
