Placements have given me the RAIL

Okay, so I went 7 wins and 3 losses in placements, mostly games where I carried (Check the match history if you must) with mostly high bronze in my games. I finally reach the last game where I play with a support Shaco and an inting Draven, in which I OBVIOUSLY lose. I don't see why, but after many games of carrying, I was placed in Bronze 5. I didn't have one BAD game, and still got placed. Any other terrible ranked stories? Advice? Moral support? (Much needed).

Much anger and depressive thoughts, Natanis

You and about 10,000 others have posted this exact same thread. Most common answer given? Everyone from diamond 5 to challenger can only place as high as plat 1 so that puts EVERYONE down at least a tier if not 2 no matter how good you did in placements.

I'm guessing since you're bronze 5 you were either bronze or silver last season so for future reference you'll NEVER place higher after placements, even 10-0.

Yeah, but I'm talking WITHIN bronze, I feel the very bottom seems excessive. Games like Overwatch use the same system except they compute good games to let you climb within placements, not relegating you to a tier before you even play.

I don't know about that man; I'm seeing a lot of "Bronze 4" in those games. Well, that's what helps me: clarity on the situation.

What could also help is reframintg the situation. What placements are for you is just an advanced placement test, testing you to see if you can skip some of the material like if you just happened to be born into a bilingual household and could ace the finals of the early classes on the first day. It only means that those early losses mean you didn't get to skip any rungs of the ladder. You were not set back and there are no disadvantages that you have gained from your placements. The bad games don't actually mean anything more than what you let them.
